The Broadway League announces more about the special event scheduled to take place on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 4:00pm in Duffy Square when the Broadway community will mark the tenth anniversary of 9/11. This event will encore the iconic performance that took place one decade ago when Broadway performers helped inspire New Yorkers to return to normalcy with a landmark outdoor performance.

The Tempest, the third production in the Trevor Nunn Season, opened last night, 6 September and is booking until 29 October 2011. Set and costume designs are by Stephen Brimson Lewis, with lighting by Paul Pyant, sound by Paul Groothuis and music by Shaun Davey. The Tempest is produced by the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company, Duncan C Weldon, Paul Elliott & Terri and Timothy Childs.

According to TVGuide.com, stage veteran Marilu Henner is set to guest star on CBS' new drama Unforgettable. Henner will play a woman with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. Unforgettable premieres Tuesday, September 20 at 10/9c on CBS.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors. Recipients to be honored at the 34th annual national celebration of the arts are: singer Barbara Cook, singer and songwriter Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, saxophonist and composer Sonny Rollins, and actress Meryl Streep.

Douglas Carter Beane's LYSISTRATA JONES will indeed head to Broadway in the fall, beginning previews at the Walter Kerr Theatre November 12, 2011 in anticipation of a December 14 opening. The production last played the basketball court of the Judson Memorial Church Gymnasium off-Broadway in Washington Square, opening on June 5. The production was presented by the Transport Group Theatre Company.
