Fox's hit television show GLEE will return Tuesday nights September 20, and album art for the season premiere has just been released, indicating what songs the New Directions will be singing first! On the list is: HAIRSPRAY's 'You Can't Stop the Beat,' ANNIE GET YOUR GUN's ' Anything You Can Do,' THE WIZARD OF OZ's 'Ding Dong the Witch is Dead,' and 'It's Not Unusual.'

THE LEGEND OF Julie Taymor, or The Musical That Killed Everybody! gets its world premiere this August at FringeNYC, playing the Bleecker Theatre. The musical by Travis Ferguson (book & lyrics) and Dave Ogrin (music & lyrics) tells the story of the rise and fall of Director Julie Taymor and the behind-the-scenes scandals of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark which has since become a modern Broadway legend. Newsies is inspired by the real life ‘Newsboy Strike of 1899,' when newsboy Kid Blink led the ragged orphans and runaways known as newsies on a two-week-long action against Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst and other powerful newspaper publishers. Set in New York City at the turn of the century, the musical is the tale of newsie Jack Kelly, who dreams of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when Pulitzer and Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsies' expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies his army of newsies to strike. Today the American Foundation for Equal Rights, in partnership with Broadway Impact, announce the complete cast and roles for the highly anticipated one-night only staged reading of '8,' a new play chronicling the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8. The play is written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and will be directed by two-time Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premier producer of professional Broadway musical revivals is excited to produce the Andrew Lloyd Webber sensation Evita this Fall - Saturday, October 22nd through Sunday, October 30th in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) opened its 2011-12 season with The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin on August 31. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, began previews on August 17. The production will begin previews at the Richard Rogers Theatre on December 17, 2011 in anticipation of a January 12, 2012 Broadway opening.

According to the Guardian, Oscar Wilde's grandson Merlin Holland is not happy with north London's King's Head Theatre for claiming that they are producing 'the world premiere of the only unproduced Oscar Wilde play'.

She will portray the sassy, demanding, and conniving Matron 'Mama' Morton in Media's production of the classic hit musical 'Chicago' September 28-November 6. 'Mama' Morton watches over the female prisoners of Cook County Jail in the satirical look at the criminal justice system.

We Bought a Zoo is an upcoming comedy drama film directed by Cameron Crowe starring Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, Colin Ford, Broadway veteran Scarlett Johansson, Desi Lydic, Patrick Fugit, and Elle Fanning. The film is based on a memoir by Benjamin Mee about how the author and his family used their life savings to buy Dartmoor Zoological Park, a dilapidated zoo, replete with 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside.

Karl (Legally Blonde, Wicked) will step in the role of Tommy Devito following the departure of Dominic Nolfi on September 25th. Direct from the national tour of JERSEY BOYS, VanAntwerp will step in the role of Bob Gaudio following the departure of Ryan Jesse on October 9. Erik Bates will play the role of Tommy DeVito for performances September 27 through October 9.
