The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director) announced the full cast and creative team for ART at The Pasadena Playhouse. ART, by Yasmina Reza stars Bradley Whitford, Michael O'Keefe and Roger Bart and will be directed by nine-time Emmy Award-winner David Lee. The production will perform January 24 - February 19 , with the official press opening on January 29, 2012.

In March 2012, Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera begins a new tour of the UK. LES MISERABLES tour director, Laurence Conner, is on board to direct the production. Check out a promo video for he production below!

SHOWTIME is packing another hit of its highest-rated comedy series WEEDS, picking up an eighth season. Thirteen new episodes will go into production in 2012.

Dark Sisters is a suspenseful, emotional, and lyrical depiction of one woman's struggle with life and faith and the universal dilemma of whether to stay or leave. The opera opens a window into the lives of Eliza and her sister wives, members of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), a polygamous sect based in the southwestern United States. Creators Muhly and Karam have drawn inspiration from the crush of media attention surrounding two of the many raids on FLDS compounds (the 2008 raid at the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Eldorado, TX and the 1953 raid at Short Creek, AZ), as well as from the stories of the more than 80 wives of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.

Following today'sannouncement that Brian Grazer wil be replacing former show producer Brett Ratner for the 2012 Academy Awards, it has just been announced that Broadway veteran Billy Crystal will take over as host. Crystal hosted the Academy Awards broadcast in 1990-1993, 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2004; and he reportedly turned down hosting the 2006 ceremony to concentrate on his one-man show, 700 Sundays. His eight times as the M.C. is second only to Bob Hope's 18 in most ceremonies hosted.

According to ContactMusic.com, Broadway legend Liza Minnelli has just undergone foot surgery after injuring it on November 5. Minnelli was unable to attend the Police Athletic League's Women of the Year event on November 7 as a result.

Hosts Brooke Shields and Brad Oscar will welcome celebrities, Broadway greats, philanthropy influencers and the New York elite to celebrate the 12th Annual Make Believe on Broadway, on November 14 at the Shubert Theatre. Award-winning actor and musician Hershey Felder (George Gershwin Alone, Monsieur Chopin, Beethoven As I Knew Him) returns to Chicago with Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein. Combining first-person narrative with the music of composer Bernstein and the artists who inspired him, Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein is the story of the legendary American composer and longtime music director of the New York Philharmonic. Helmed by award-winning director Joel Zwick, Hershey Felder will return to Chicago's Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted, where from September 2004 through January 2006, he held residence with George Gershwin Alone and the World Premiere of Monsieur Chopin, culminating in 70 weeks of live performances. Maestro will begin previews on November 1st with press opening November 9th, and will play through December 30.

Every year, hundreds of D.C.-area military families must spend the Thanksgiving holiday away from loved ones. In gratitude for their service, Arena Stage is inviting wounded warriors, service men and women, and military families with deployed service members to a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner and performance at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth St., S.W.) Friday, November 25. Arena Stage is working through each of the military service branch's Warrior Transition Units to distribute the tickets. It is anticipated that more than 260 guests will experience this special evening.

NBC will celebrate the lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree with a live broadcast from Rockefeller Center in New York City on Wednesday, November 30th from 8 to 9 p.m. ET. According to Newsday, Matthew James Thomas, who plays Reeve Carney's alternate in Spider-Man twice a week on Broadway, was injured backstage during Wednesday's matinee at the Foxwood's Theatre. Thomas was taken to the hospital to get stitches in his head, after suffering a head injury at the top of the second act. Reeve Carney, who was in the theatre for the performance, took over for the rest of the show.
