Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced full casting for the upcoming Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning play WIT, by Margaret Edson, directed by Lynne Meadow. Joining Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon as 'Vivian Bearing' will be Pun Bandhu (Technician), Olivier Award winner Suzanne Bertish (E.M. Ashford), Michael Countryman (Harvey Kelekian/Mr. Bearing), Jessica Dickey (Technician), Chike Johnson (Technician), Greg Keller (Jason Posner), Carra Patterson (Susie Monahan), and Zachary Spicer (Technician).

According to the NY Times, film producer Paula Wagner and Roy Furman are currently working on a revival of THE HEIRESS. Producers told the NYT that they are looking to bring the revival of the 1947 play to Broadway in Fall 2012, and that Moises Kaufman is on board to direct.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company is saddened to announce that ensemble member John Mahoney will be leaving the cast of its upcoming production of Penelope, playing December 1, 2011 - February 5, 2012:

This holiday season, NCM Fathom and the Metropolitan Opera will present special encores of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and Mozart's The Magic Flute from the award-winning series The Met: Live in HD. The operas, presented in abridged versions and sung in English, are designed to bring appeal of the opera to families with children and will screen in the United States through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network on December 21 and December 22.

West End star Ramin Karimloo, who was just seen as the title character in the 25th Anniversary concert of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and will soon star as Jean Valjean in the London production of LES MISERABLES, will soon release a new album titled Ramin. According to the star's Twitter page, the release has been moved to February 6, 2012.

Last night the Broadway at Birdland stage was home for a true insider event, when Liza Minnelli and Sam Harris gave the lucky packed house a sneak-peek at their new duo project, 'Schmoolie & Minnooli: Works in Progress.'

The Guthrie Theater just completed a four-week run of Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Rapp's The Edge of Our Bodies, an intimate and intriguing story of Bernadette, a young woman at the threshold of adulthood on a harrowing journey in search of experience. This marks the first time that a production of Rapp's work was performed at the Guthrie Theater. The Guthrie's production featured Minnesota native and recent New York transplant Ali Rose Dachis who wowed audiences last year with her turn as Lauren in the Guthrie's Circle Mirror Transformation. Dachis is a 2009 graduate of the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program. As the Starz Denver Film Festival comes to a close, host Eden Lane sits down with Tony Award-winner, THE GOOD WIFE star, and MASTERPIECE MYSTERY! host, Alan Cumming. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Interim Executive Director Joey Parnes) announced today that GATZ, the critically lauded theatrical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, will return to The Public Theater this spring for a limited seven-week engagement. Created by Elevator Repair Service, this award-winning theatrical event, directed by John Collins and featuring Scott Shepherd as Nick, will begin previews on Wednesday, March 14 and run through Sunday, May 6 for 28 performances only in the Newman Theater. Member tickets go on sale on Monday, November 21 with single tickets on sale in early January.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011 over 200 people attended 'Stockings with Care's Celebrity Bartending Night' in New York City at Hudson Station Bar and Grill. Stockings with Care provides holiday gifts for children whose families either live in homeless shelters or are in jeopardy of becoming homeless.
