Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

Barbra Streisand's private music vault holds all the master tapes she's recorded for five decades. Now, she's sharing 11 previously unreleased songs, spanning a cross-section of her career from 1963 to the present. The collection, titled RELEASE ME, is now available on vinyl and on CD (Tuesday, October 9). Signature Theatre has just announced a one-week extension for GOLDEN CHILD by David Henry Hwang, directed by Leigh Silverman. The production will now play through Sunday, December 9. The production will begin performances on October 23 and open November 13 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Very limited availability remains for the production's initial run. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each.

Held at The New Tropicana Las Vegas Historic Showroom, the event featured the company of WICKED. THE COMEDY is already one of the most talked about films since it bowed at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The film also played South by Southwest and is set for BAMcinemaFEST this June, it will be released in October 2012. Jagjaguwar, the prominent independent music label known for artists such as Bon Iver and Sharon Van Etten, produced THE COMEDY in conjunction with Greyshack Films and Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix, along with Mike S. Ryan and Brent Kunkle producing. Rough House Pictures, the Production Company of Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, Jody Hill, and Matt Reilly attached themselves to the film during Sundance. Rock legend Stevie Nicks in collaboration with musical wizard Dave Stewart have co-produced and co-directed 'In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks' a documentary portrait of the illusive Nicks as they embark on a musical journey to write and record the critically acclaimed album 'In Your Dreams'. The film will premiere at the 35th International Hamptons Film Festival on Sunday October 7th and at the 20th annual Mill Valley Film Festival on Friday, October 12th which has already sold out.

On Christmas Day, the highly anticipated film version of Les Miserables hits the big screen, and according to producer Cameron Mackintosh, there might be another Boublil & Schonberg musical coming soon after. According to Ohnotheydidint, Mackintosh recently revealed: "If Les Mis is a success then Miss Saigon will be made into a film. It isn't confirmed at this point but there are many people sniffing around and offers coming in."

On Gould's voice, Streisand revealed: 'When I heard the things he's recorded- the musicianship, the sound of his voice... it's like he has a little chamber music orchestra right in his vocal chords.'

Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 204TH season with an all-new production of Broadway's five-time Tony Award-winning family musical, Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN.
