Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Industry Bar has established a tradition of featuring some of the weeks most anticipated must- see entertainment. In addition to having one of the city's hottest happy hours, the popular gay watering hole hosts a week's long cornucopia of evening entertainment including Tuesday night's Sweet Spot, Thursday's Queen, Sunday's Guyote Ugly and, of course, DIVA! Mondays. Featuring live musical performances by celebrated artists, DIVA! Mondays stars the illustrious Marty Thomas (XANADU, WICKED, THE SECRET GARDEN) alongside Kelly King (MICHAEL BOLTON, BABYFACE), Alexa Green (WICKED), and Marissa Rosen (MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING). This month, the show will 'bring it' to the next level, courtesy of Broadway's BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL. For six weeks only, beginning Monday, October 1, a new female cast member from the blockbuster hit will take the DIVA! stage to prove that she's got what it takes to "Bring It On". Show times begin promptly at 11pm.

TV Land has ordered a cast-contingent presentation of the script 'Giant Baby' by Marco Pennette ('Ugly Betty,' 'Samantha Who'), it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, president of TV Land. The comedy will star Kirstie Alley in the lead role of Madison 'Maddie' Banks, a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when Owen, the son she gave up for adoption 26 years ago, turns up looking to connect after his adopted mother has died. However, Maddie doesn't exactly see nerdy and schlubby Owen fitting in with her luxurious lifestyle. When her attempt to change Owen backfires, Maddie finds that perhaps they both could use a little change in their lives.

Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC) will present the world premiere of SENSE & SENSIBILITY THE MUSICAL, running April 5 - May 26 in The Stage Theatre. Accoring to DCTC's website, the show has securred an all-star design team, wich includes scenic design by Allen Moyer, costume design by Esosa, lighting design by James F. Ingalls and sound design by Craig Breitenbach. As BroadwayWorld previously announced, the show will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

On Gould's voice, Streisand revealed: 'When I heard the things he's recorded- the musicianship, the sound of his voice... it's like he has a little chamber music orchestra right in his vocal chords.' Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith and Columbia University have just announced the establishment of significant theater award, The Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History (EMK Prize). Ambassador Smith has created the Prize to honor the life and legacy of her late brother, Senator Ted Kennedy. The first recipient of the EMK Prize will be announced on Senator Kennedy's birthday, February 22, 2013.
