Superstar Beyonce sang The National Anthem at President Barack Obama's 2013 Inauguration earlier this week on the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington DC. The performance has become controversial however after it was revealed that Knowles was lip-syncing the whole thing to a backing track with her voice. Following a hugely acclaimed and record-breaking sell out run at Hampstead Theatre, Neil Armfield's production of David Hare's The Judas Kiss just transferred to the West End. The cast features Rupert Everett and Freddie Fox in the lead roles of Oscar Wilde and Lord AlFred Douglas, performances which won them universal acclaim, they are joined by Cal Macaninch in the role of Robert Ross. The cast also includes Ben Hardy, Kirsty Oswald, Alister Cameron and Tom Colley. Check out photos from opening night below!

Today in 2005, Little Women opened at the Virginia Theatre (now the August Wilson Theatre), where it ran for 137 performances. Based on Louisa May Alcott's classic 1869 semi-autobiographical novel, it focuses on the four March sisters - brassy, tomboy-like, aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth - and their beloved Marmee, at home in Concord, Massachusetts while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio. The Broadway cast included Sutton Foster, Maureen McGovern, Janet Carroll, Jenny Powers, Megan McGinnis, and Amy McAlexander.

Producers Broadway Across America - Beth Williams, Howard & Janet Kagan and Barry Brown just announced casting for the world premiere production of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre (106 Boylston Street) from July 28-August 18, 2013. The pre-Broadway production will feature (in alphabetical order): Fred Applegate (Sister Act) as 'Constable Joe,' Marylouise Burke (Fuddy Meers) as 'Nana,' Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (Scandalous) as 'Ma Tuck,' David Garrison (Titanic) as 'The Man In The Yellow Suit,' Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) as 'Jesse Tuck,' Daytime Emmy Award Winner Michael Park (How To Succeed…) as 'Pa Tuck,' Michael Wartella (The Kid) as 'Hugo,' and Valerie Wright (Elf) as 'Mother,' and will introduce Sadie Sink in the role of 'Winnie.'

According to his official Facebook page, Barry Manilow has postponed tonight's performance of Manilow on Broadway, playing at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). It reads: 'With deep apologies, and due to a sudden case of bronchitis, tonight's show will be postponed until February 26th. Mr. Manilow can be found on the Brooklyn Bridge, getting ready to jump. (JK)'

January 24 and 25, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka will make his Austin Cabaret Theatre debut in his brand new show, YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO YOUNG, before premiering it in NYC in the spring. Expect to hear Sondheim, Comden and Green, Rodgers and Hart, Jerry Herman, and Cole Porter, and more, as Hunter tells his story from growing up in Dallas, to pursuing his dreams on the Great White Way.

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) just announced that Tony Award nominated director Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) will direct actress Mickey Sumner (film Frances Ha, Showtime's "The Borgias") in the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony Award nominee Craig Lucas's new comedy THE LYING LESSON, joining previously announced star Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Carol Kane (Wicked, "Taxi").

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., will once again make theater history when it becomes the first Broadway show ever to celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Unfortunately, the show's creator, Andrew Lloyd Webber, will not be present for the festivities this weekend. He realeased the following statement at Whosay.com:

Live From Lincoln Center's winter and spring broadcast season kicks off with a special concert from Lincoln Center's 2013 American Songbook series celebrating the legendary songwriting duo of John Kander and Fred Ebb. The broadcast, "RingThem Bells! Rob Fisher Celebrates Kander & Ebb," is hosted by Audra McDonald and will air on PBS stations on Friday, February 15, 2013, at 9 p.m. (ET) (check local listings).

According to the Sun, Adele, who just won a Golden Globe Award for the title song in Skyfall is eager to earn more awards to earn the sought-after EGOT, and that might include a trip to Broadway. She told the Sun: 'It's surreal and hilarious. It's not my field. Amazing actors have these awards. The next step is Broadway and a TV show. I'm going to do a Whoopi.'

On March 8, 2013, The New York Pops continues its 30th season with an evening of swinging favorites in Luck Be a Lady: Megan Hilty Sings Sinatra and More. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - will lead the orchestra as it tips its hat to the Rat Pack, Ella Fitzgerald, Marilyn Monroe, and other stars from the golden age of entertainment. The performance features Megan Hilty, Broadway singer and star of the television show Smash, and Ryan Silverman, one of Broadway's favorite leading men. The program will include "Luck Be a Lady," "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend," music from Smash and more.
