The World Premiere of the Broadway-bound Allegiance - A New American Musical ended its extended run at San Diego's Old Globe on October 28, 2012. The musical starred television and film icon George Takei, Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga and Broadway favorite Telly Leung. Takei just appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, where he chatted about the show, and you can check out what he had to say below!

According to MSBusiness, Daryl Roth is bringing Rupert Holmes' stage adaptation of John Grisham's novel A Time to Kill to Broadway in Fall 2013. A recent production played Baltimore's Arena Stage in 2011.

The Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography returned to Stage 72 (formerly the Triad Theater (158 West 72 Street) on Monday, January 14. The Gallery Players, now in its 46th season, will start off the New Year with Alfred Uhry and Jason Robert Brown's PARADE, running January 26 to February 17, 2013. Tony Award winner for Best Book and Best Score in 1999, PARADE is based on the true events of the 1913 trial of Leo Frank, a Jewish man from Brooklyn who runs a pencil factory in Marietta, Georgia. Frank is accused of the murder of 13-year old Mary Phagan, a factory worker under his employ. Already guilty in the eyes of everyone around him, a sensationalist publisher, determined district attorney and a janitor's false testimony seal Leo's fate. His only defenders are a governor with a conscience, and eventually, his assimilated Southern wife who finds the strength and love to become his greatest champion. 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the crime.

Grammy Award-winning superstar Barry Manilow's hometown concert event, Manilow on Broadway, begins its limited Broadway engagement tonight, January 18, 2013, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Opening Night is set for Thursday, January 24, 2013.

Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, starring Scarlett Johansson as Maggie, Ciarán Hinds as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick and Debra Monk as Big Mama, directed by Rob Ashford, opened last night January 17, and BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was there to chat with the whole cast at the after party. According to Daily Mail, the cast of the Academy Award nominated LES MISERABLES will be performing at the Oscars this February. The song that will be performed is still undecided, but rumors are circulating that it will likely be either be a medley, or one of the ensemble numbers such as 'One Day More' or 'Do You Hear The People Sing.'

According to the Boston Herald, Golden Globe winner and Broadway star Jessica Chastain might star in another play in the future. THE HEIRESS star told BH that up next on her agenda is a project that 'hasn't been announced but it's pretty obscure, maybe ten people.... Like in typical Chastain fashion, I mean not a lot of people will see this, but I have a very -- it might be a Strindberg type thing but we'll see.' When the BH asked her whether it was 'Miss Julie,' Chastian made a face like 'you guessed it!'

Michael Puzzo's Spirits of Exit Eleven at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street, NYC) will open on Thursday, January 17th at 8PM.
