Theatre fans everywhere know that this means one thing- the Broadway Fall season is here at last! In the coming weeks, the Great White Way will be busy, busy, busy, with countless openings in New York City's theatre district. It was a sad afternoon in Central Park today, as a family and friends of Kyle Jean-Baptiste gathered to mourn his tragic loss. LES MISERABLES cast members, Baldwin Wallace classmates, and fellow Broadway performers shed tears and shared embraces under the watch of the Bethesda Fountain angel and tried to find some solace in these truly heartbreaking circumstances. During the memorial, the fountain was encircled with love and support and attendees joined in singing a short portion of 'Do You Hear the People Sing?' 

Anticipation is at an all-time high with tickets for Hugh Jackman's BROADWAY TO OZ national arena tour going on sale today. This high-octane show takes audiences on a journey through Jackman's life so far, from his early days in outback Australia to his vast musical theatre triumphs and to the first time he wielded the Wolverine claws in the blockbuster X-Men film franchise. Happy Birthday, Alan Jay Lerner! Lerner was an American lyricist and librettist. In collaboration with Frederick Loewe, he created some of the world's most popular and enduring works of musical theatre for both the stage and on film. He won three Tony Awards and three Academy Awards, among other honors. Some of his best-know works include My Fair Lady, Briagadoon, Camelot, and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.

Deaf West's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff, began rehearsals earlier this month for its big Broadway transfer. Earlier this week, the company invited the press inside their rehearsal room for a sneak peek of what they've been working on. Since the production aims to bridge a gap between hearing and deaf audiences, we are bringing you a special close-captioned version of the festivities below! Just last month, Jake Gyllenhaal, Taran Killam, Eddie Cooper, and more took the stage with original Little Shop of Horrors star Ellen Greene to perform in the Encores! Today in 2009, The Little Mermaid closed at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it ran for 685 performances. The Little Mermaid is based on the animated 1989 Disney film of the same name and the classic story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. The musical's book is by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman (written for the film) and new lyrics by Glenn Slater. The original cast featured Sierra Boggess in the title role of Ariel, Sean Palmer as Prince Eric, Brian D'Addario and Trevor Braun alternate as Flounder, Norm Lewis as King Triton, Sherie Rene Scott as Ursula, Tituss Burgess as Sebastian, Tyler Maynard as Flotsam, Derrick Baskin as Jetsam, Jonathan Freeman as Grimsby, and John Treacy Egan as Chef Louis.

Happy Birthday, Lea Michele! Best known to theatre audiences for her role as 'Wendla' in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Spring Awakening, Michele was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance. She also starred in the Broadway productions of Les Miserables, Ragtime and Fiddler on the Roof. For her work on GLEE, Michele was honored with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Actress - Comedy or Musical and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Today in 1977, Chicago closed at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre), where it ran for 936 performances. Chicago is a musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, with music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Chicago's 1996 Broadway revival holds the record for the longest-running musical revival on Broadway and is its fourth longest-running show.

Harold Pinter's Old Times, directed by Douglas Hodge, is coming to Broadway as part of Roundabout's 50th anniversary season, starring Clive Owen, Eve Best and Kelly Reilly. The show will begin preview performances on Thursday, September 17, 2015, and open officially on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, November 29, 2015, on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street).

The teachers of the West Des Moines School District know how to do the first day of school. To welcome students back from summer break, the faculty joined together to perform LES MISERABLES' 'One Day More,' with updated lyrics of course. Check out their hilarious flashmob performance below!

Beginning last night, August 25, American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Misty Copeland made her Broadway debut as 'Ivy Smith' in the Tony Award nominated revival of On The Town, continuing in the role through the end of the musical's run on September 6.
