Two gifted young artists bring a program of classics to life as Los Angeles Philharmonic Associate Conductor Lionel Bringuier leads the LA Phil and violinist Augustin Hadelich in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, Thursday, August 19, at 8 p.m. The program of romantic masterworks also includes Dvo?ák's Carnival Overture, and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.

In honor of the Fine Arts Quartet's 65th anniversary season, all Quartet concerts on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) campus during the 2010-11 season will be free and open to the public.The Fine Arts Quartet is one of the most distinguished ensembles in chamber music today, with an illustrious history of performing success and an extensive recording legacy.

A new era for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra begins on September 14, when Jacques Lacombe takes the podium for a Gala Opening Night Celebration-his inaugural concert as the Orchestra's 13th Music Director. To mark the occasion, special guests Joshua Bell and Jeanine De Bique join Lacombe for a program highlighting the new music director's love of music from the orchestral to opera and ballet. The concert, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, begins at 7 p.m.

The Brick Theater, Inc., announces the performance schedule and lineup for the upcoming 2010 New York Clown Theatre Festival, performing September 3-26 at The Brick Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Single tickets for Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! will go on sale Friday, Sept. 3 at 12:00 noon. The annual holiday musical, directed by James Vasquez with book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin, will run in the Old Globe Theatre November 20 - December 26. Previews run from Nov. 20 - Nov. 24. Opening night is Nov. 26 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets to Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! are currently available to subscribers only. Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that The Old Globe, in partnership with KPBS, will host a special screening of 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!,' a new animated television series airing on the PBS KIDS programming block on KPBS-TV and designed to support science learning for preschoolers. The free event will take place on Monday, September 6 in the Old Globe Theatre. All children in attendance will receive complimentary goody bags and may have their photos taken with The Cat in the Hat himself. The newest venture of the American Voices New Play Institute launches this fall with Theater 101, an audience enrichment seminar designed to deepen audiences' understanding of the development of new plays. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that The Little Foxes, written by Lillian Hellman, and directed by Ivo van Hove, will begin performances Friday, September 10, at 8pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery. Opening night is scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2010, at 7:00pm. The production runs through October 31, 2010.

The Jungle Book is the largest, most ambitious production ever attempted by The Theatre School. Adapted for the stage by Margaret Larlham, the show is based on the beloved classic by Rudyard Kipling. Theatre School Director Matt Thompson is spearheading the production, with co-directors Tarla Hill (former theatre school student) and Ashley Rossetti and features original music by Thomas Hodges.

Following a sold out, critically acclaimed and award-winning run Off-Broadway, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS will open on Broadway on Sunday, October 31 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street).
