Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

It's already the fourth week of ABC's hit 'Dancing with the Stars', and tonight viewers found out that reality television star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and partner Karina Smirnoff will not move on to see week five. Bristol Palin and Kurt Warner were also in the bottom three, but will get another chance to prove themselves next week. Remaining competitors include: Kyle Massey, Brandy, Jennifer Grey, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge. Previously voted-off contestants include: Margaret Cho, Michael Bolton, and David Hasselhoff.

Acorn Productions Revives Scenes from DOUBLE FALSEHOOD, 11/1

The Acorn Shakespeare Ensemble, presenters of the 'Naked Shakespeare' series, continues the company's 2010/11 season of events on Monday, November 1 at 8 p.m. with another edition of the troupe's popular 'Sonnet and Soliloquies' series at the Wine Bar on Wharf St. in Portland's Old Port. The November edition will feature four selections from Double Falsehood, the play recently determined by scholars to be the remnants of the lost play The History of Cardenio written by Shakespeare and John Fletcher. Naked Shakespeare has created a much-abridged narrated version of the play that includes the pieces the company feels are the most Shakespearean. Joining this piece on the schedule are scenes from Hamlet, Measure for Measure, and Othello, along with speeches from a number of other plays in the canon. The performance is free with an $8 suggested donations. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early and order food and drink to enjoy during the show.

BURN THE FLOOR is coming to SAN DIEGO CIVIC THEATRE in a Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation, OCTOBER 12 - 17 only; direct from Broadway and London. The tour features 'So You Think You Can Dance' alums Anya Garnis, Pasha Kovalev, Ashleigh Di Lello, Ryan Di Lello, Robbie Kmetoni, Janette Manrara and Karen Hauer. All seven have been seen on TV's 'So You Think You Can Dance,' in the US (Anya & Pasha, Top 10 Finalists and Season 7 All Stars; Ashleigh & Ryan Di Lello, Janette Manrara and Karen Hauer, Top 10 Finalists) and Australia (Robbie Kmetoni, 2010 Winner). Also featured is Vonzell Solomon as the show's female vocalist. Vonzell was the second runner-up in the 4th season of 'American Idol.' San Diego's own Mary Murphy, guest judge on 'So You Think You Can Dance' will appear as a guest star the San Jose and San Diego engagements of the Tour, partnered with ballroom champion Vaidas Skimelis. Howard Fishman to Perform at Woolly Mammoth Theatre, 10/27

Critically acclaimed singer, guitarist, composer, and bandleader Howard Fishman will perform for one night only at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company on Wednesday, October 27th at 7:30pm, as part of his fall/winter tour. Other tour stops include various locations throughout New England, Upstate NY, and the Mid-Atlantic Region-along with a three-night stand at New York City's Abrons Arts Center, where Fishman will perform each new record in its entirety, on successive evenings and with different ensembles. Additionally, Fishman will release a trilogy of recordings on October 26th, 2010. Recorded simultaneously with vastly different musical palettes, each CD is set against a specific geographical backdrop: New Orleans, LA (BETTER GET RIGHT), Romania (NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS), and Brooklyn, NY (THE WORLD WILL BE DIFFERENT).

SCREAM, the Southern California Resource for Electro-Acoustic Music, returns to REDCAT for its annual SCREAM Festival, a series of yearly programs curated by Barry Schrader. This year's event features NoiseFold, a live cinema, installation and electronic music performance group founded by artists David Stout and Cory Metcalf. D.C.-area theatergoers and foodies will delight in the savory options José Andrés Catering with Ridgewells has assembled for the opening menu of Next Stage by José Andrés, the new cafe featured within Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Next Stage by José Andrés will offer several cafe menu items that will change throughout the season based on the settings of Arena Stage's productions, at the same time offering familiar, affordable and easy-to-manage fare delivered with great finesse. Next Stage by José Andrés will hold its official opening on the same day as Arena Stage during the Homecoming Grand Opening Celebration October 23, 2010. The cafe and concessions will also be open to patrons attending the Oklahoma! preview October 22.

Raven Hill Productions Presents THE EXONERATED, 10/21-11/7

The voices of Americans who were wrongly convicted of heinous crimes, sentenced to death and jailed for years will be heard when Raven Hill Productions presents the stage play 'The Exonerated,' written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, Upstairs at the Adrienne. This compelling 90-minute production about condemnation of the innocent, imprisonment and redemption is directed by Esther Flaster.
