Auditions for all ages and styles are being held August 13-14 for 'Northglenn's Got Talent.' The talent show is a FUNdraiser for the Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF). Auditions and performance will be held at the D.L. Parsons Theatre inside the Northglenn Recreation Center at 11801 Community Center Drive in Northglenn. It is sponsored by NAHF and all proceeds benefit the Foundation.

The theatre is joins other Sarasota companies and non-profits to participate in TagSRQ, an area economic development initiative designed to drive new business via mobile phones. The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) announces the selection of Morehead State University and University of Nevada Las Vegas as co-winners of the 2010-2011 Guest Artist Initiative Program grants. Each school will receive SDCF funding of $3000 to hire a professional director or choreographer for a mainstage production in early 2011.

The Jackson Gallery at Town Hall Theater announce the opening of Janest Fredericks' 'It's All About Water' from Friday, August 13th to Saturday, September 25th. The exhibit features paintings and works on paper celebrating the local waterways.

The Japan Society (333 East 47th Street) announces its Performing Arts Season spanning Fall 2010 through Spring 2011. The upcoming season features a variety of arts disciplines, from the spellbinding audiovisual concert datamatics [ver. 2.0] by Ryoji Ikeda, to the work of renowned actor Yoshi Oida in his comic one-man play Interrogations: Words of the Zen Masters, to the always-anticipated annual Contemporary Dance Showcase. The centerpiece of the season is the New York debut of Kyoto-based Kashu-Juku Noh Theater, offering audiences the opportunity to experience the 600 year-old tradition of noh and kyogen performed back-to-back. The upcoming season also offers a staged reading of the hit Japanese comedy Trance by Shoji Kokami, in an English translation directed by OBIE-winner Ken Rus Schmoll.
