Comedian Lewis Black returned The Daily Show, February 20, with his segment Back in Black. Since 1996, Black has been bringing his comedic rants to the Comedy Central series—then hosted by Jon Stewart and now hosted by Trevor Noah.

The fourth annual MINUS ZERO FESTIVAL--set for April 6, 7 and 8 at Mount Snow Resort in Vermont--has announced its full music lineup for the three-day festival weekend. Composer Lisa Bielawa celebrates the receipt of a 2017 Music Award from the American Academy of Arts & Letters, an honor society of the country's 250 leading architects, artists, composers, and writers. In 1941, the Academy established awards to encourage creative work in the arts and each year the Academy honors over 70 composers, artists, architects, and writers with awards and prizes ranging from $5000 to $100,000. Candidates for awards must be nominated by an Academy member and the recipients are chosen by committees whose members are drawn from the Academy's roster. Now $10,000 each, Arts and Letters Awards are given annually to five artists, eight writers, four composers, and four architects. Composers receive an additional $10,000 toward the recording of a work.

The UK-based Beating Heart Project will be making its North American debut with four showcases at this year's SXSW. Beating Heart is a collective of artists and enthusiasts who believe in the power of music to create a world without borders. Born in the heart of Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016, the project sprung from a vision to bring the world's largest archive of African field recordings to today's hottest producers to build new compositions using the original field recordings.

Jazz fusion legend Billy Cobham announces a multi-city US Tour dedicated to revisiting his second album, Crosswinds, which was originally released in 1974. For this new performance se- ries, known as the “Crosswinds Project,” Cobham and the band will perform updated arrangements of his compositions from this album, supported by Paul Hanson (bassoon, sax); Fareed Haque (guitar); Tim Landers (bass); and Scott Tibbs (keys).
