Aaron Johnston, drummer and founding member of Brazilian Girls and current member of David Byrne's touring band, is bringing his new project, J.E.D.I. (Jazz Electronic Dance Improvisation), to New Orleans for a very special Jazz Fest late-night performance. The new collaborative project, which features a rotating cast of musical characters at each performance, is set to take place at Maison on Sunday, April 29th. Johnston, who will be performing with Byrne at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival earlier that day, has put together an all-star lineup for this edition of J.E.D.I., featuring bassist Marc Brownstein from The Disco Biscuits, keyboardist Borahm Lee of Break Science and Pretty Lights Live Band, and Lettuce saxophonist Ryan Zoidis.

Production began today on 'Convicting A Murderer', a follow-up to Netflix's sensational 2015 documentary series 'Making A Murderer'. Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Shawn Rech (A MURDER IN THE PARK) will direct the 8-episode series. 'Convicting' is being produced by Rech and his partner, Chicago Attorney Andrew Hale, as part of his Cleveland-based Transition Studios, which secured independent financing and is currently shopping the series.

BBC AMERICA released the first teaser trailer today for Killing Eve, the thriller starring Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy) and Jodie Comer (The White Princess), giving a peek into the warped relationship between Eve (Oh) and Villanelle (Comer). Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn't fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Killing Eve topples the typical spy-action thriller as these two women, equally obsessed with each other, go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse. Killing Eve premieres Sunday, April 8th at 8/7c.

The new documentary SHOT IN MEXICO tells the story of Brad Will, a young American activist-journalist who was killed in 2006 while filming a violent rebellion in Oaxaca, Mexico, and the tangled aftermath of his death. Brad's murder, captured on his own camera, ignited worldwide attention and put a spotlight on corruption and injustice in Mexico. In the crime's wake, two families from different sides of the border are tested. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) continues its Spring 2018 Music Series on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 7:30pm with a screening of the 1920 silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, accompanied by the New York premiere of an inventive score for the film by Stephen Prutsman performed live by New York's Puck Quartet. The film tells the story of a hypnotist who uses a sleepwalker to commit crimes. Directed by Robert Wiene, written by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer, and dubbed “the first true horror film” by critic Roger Ebert, it is considered a classic.
