The West End revival of MISS SAIGON closed yesterday, February 27th, at the Prince Edward Theatre after nearly two years of performances. But fans of the production should not despair - as BroadwayWorld previously reported, the production has plans to move to Broadway next!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Broadway favorites Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane will reunite on Jimmy Kimmel's post-Oscars special tonight, performing a big musical number mocking GOP frontrunner Donald Trump. Gulfshore Opera will present Johann Sebastian Bach's Saint Matthew Passion for three performances on March 18-20, at venues in Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties during Lent, in anticipation of the Easter season. The production is in collaboration with the Florida Gulf Coast University Chamber Choir, The Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers Chamber Chorus, a core ensemble of eight soloists, and the Gulfshore Opera Orchestra and Chorus.

Longtime CBS/NBC TV news reporter-critic David Sheehan has updated his new one-hour internet Oscar extravaganza 'AND THE WINNERS ARE ...' to open with a journalistic acknowledgement of the current controversy about the absence of African-Americans in this year's Academy Awards nominations. The opening features a leadoff interview with Will Smith, whose highly touted performance in 'Concussion' was ignored, adding more momentum to Smith's own viral social media protest hashtag #OscarsSoWhite.

Nimbus Dance Works performs Shadow of Sound by Huang Yi (Taiwan), Untitled by Korhan Basaran (Turkey), and Surface Tension by Artistic Director Samuel Pott in the company's studio theater in Downtown Jersey City. Additionally, Nicholas Ranauro, recipient of the Winter 2016 Nimbus Choreographic Residency will present a new trio created during his residency.

According to EW, music legend Elton John will give a special performance today, Saturday, February 27th, at 12 p.m. PT to thank West Hollywood for its longtime support of his AIDS foundation, which has been in operation since 1992. 

According to EW, director JJ Abrams wants to increase the diversity within the STAR WARS franchise by including gay characters in future films. The most recent Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens featured a female protagonist (Daisy Ridley) and two costars of color (Oscar Isaac and John Boyega). However, the director wants to make the franchise even more inclusive in the future.

According to USA Today, Yoko Ono was hospitalized in New York City due to flu-like symptoms. Her representative has said that she is currently on her way to recovery and should be released from the hospital very shortly. Representatives have also disputed the claims that Ono's hospitalization was due to a stroke. 

According to EW, SNL alum and Rules of Engagement star David Spade will join CBS's upcoming pilot THE KICKER. Spade has been cast in the role of Russ Thorkelson, the 'frazzled sports agent' of his brother Daryl. 

The World Premiere of Christopher Kaufman's The Phantastic Zoo will be presented today, Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 AM at Brooklyn Commons Community Center and Cafe, 388 Atlantic Avenue (between Hoyt and Bond) in Brooklyn, NY. The presentation is part of Dr. Kaufman's The Phantastic Theater project.
