Classical Roots is an important Detroit Symphony Orchestra tradition.  For 37 years, the Classical Roots concert has celebrated African-American contributions to classical music.  Tonight, guest conductor Roderick Cox leads NEA Jazz Master Branford Marsalis and soprano Laquita Mitchell in paying tribute to Jessye Norman and the late Dr. Silas Norman Jr, with a program featuring Gershwin, Marsalis' own composition, and more.

The Landing Theatre Company, Houston's professional company dedicated to advancing American Playwriting, has a new home: The Landing Theatre @ the Docks!  LTC has taken over the theatre venue formally operated by Diverse Works and then the Catastrophic Theater at 1119 East Freeway.  The Landing Theatre Company boldly kicks off their 2015-16 season in its new home with Sam Shepherd's modern classic: Fool for Love.

Chicago's Griffin Theatre Company turns classic fairy tales inside out for the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center Presenting Series season's final family show: The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. William Massolia adapted the play from the book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. With a host of wacky characters and silly songs, the production offers an 11 a.m. and a 2 p.m. matinee onSaturday, March 12 on the Patricia George Decio Theatre stage. Two young drifters hanging out behind a Vermont coffee shop discussing art and the nature of the universe decide to teach a lonely high school student everything they know. THE ALIENS, "a gentle and extraordinarily beautiful new play" (New York Times) by Pulitzer Prize-Winner Annie Baker is being presented by The Theater Project, March 31 - April 3, at the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Rd, Maplewood.

According to Variety, Cary Elwes (Saw, The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights) will star opposite Penelope Cruz in Fernando Trueba's upcoming comedy-drama, THE QUEEN OF SPAIN. The movie is a sequel to Trueba's 1998 film The Girl of Your Dreams, which also starred Cruz.

According to Entertainment Weekly, SCANDAL's Dan Bucatinsky is joining the cast of the 24 reboot series - 24: LEGACY. Bucatinsky won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor for his performance on SCANDAL as James Novak. Coral Pena (Blue Bloods) and Charlie Hofheimer (Mad Men) are also joining the 24: LEGACY cast. 

Vogue recently released a new clip from the upcoming documentary, BATTLE OF VERSAILLES, which is set to air this Sunday, March 6th. The film documents the November 28, 1973 Battle of Versailles fashion show, and prominently features Broadway diva Liza Minnelli, who began the fashion show with an unforgettable performance. 'Here I Go' marks the first single by ROGUE (written and produced by Matthew Neff and Brian Morey) and debuts today, March 1st.

Las Vegas based comedian Don Barnhart and his Battle Comics - Laughter For The Troops will be heading to the Middle East in March to entertain the troops for Armed Forces Entertainment.  The Battle Comics will be performing at some of the bases where the Vegas based 17th Sustainment Brigade is currently deployed.
