In remembrance and renewal, THIRTEEN'S Great Performances will broadcast A Concert for New York, performed by the New York Philharmonic on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of 9/11, led by Music Director Alan Gilbert, taped the previous night at a free concert in Avery Fisher Hall at New York's Lincoln Center. The broadcast will be hosted by NBC News special correspondent and author Tom Brokaw.

Acorn Productions, a non-profit company based in the Dana Warp Mill in downtown Westbrook, will continue its work nurturing and developing the performing arts in Greater Portland with its 14th season of productions.

Tomorrow marks the debut of a pioneering partnership between Broadway's Araca Group, one of New York City's leading theatrical production and merchandising companies, and The Department of Drama in Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). The Araca Group was founded by two Syracuse alumni, Mike Rego and Hank Unger; and Matthew Rego.

Lyric's 16th Annual Broadway Ball will be held on Friday, September 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City. Broadway Ball is Lyric Theatre's annual gala fundraiser that supports Lyric's artistic programs as well as the educational branches of the organization.

Louise Pitre will take on the role of Iris Langdon in the new comedy (with a bit of music) BEAmused as part of Theatre Orangeville's New Play Development Program. The piece will be directed by Adam Brazier (last seen on Broadway as Walter Hartwright in Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical The Woman In White).

Burning Coal Theatre Company will open its 15th season with the Southeastern premiere of Lucy Prebble's Enron. The production will run September 8 - 25, 2011 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) opens their Tenth Anniversary Season with the 1997 Tony Award-winning THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO by Alfred Uhry. This is the second play in what is called Mr. Uhry's Atlanta series. The first was DRIVING MISS DAISY, which CityRep produced in 2004.

New York king of avant-rock Lou Reed has teamed up with best-selling hard rock band Metallica to record a brand-new album, entitled Lulu, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on November 1st, 2011. The album was co-produced by Reed, Metallica, Hal Willner who has produced albums for Reed, Marianne Faithfull, and Laurie Anderson, among others and Greg Fidelman. Fidelman also mixed the record.
