At the close of the 16th New York International Fringe Festival (8/26) Revolve Productions presentation of "PIECES" by Chris Phillips won an "EXCELLENCE IN PLAYWRITING" Award. Some of the most popular events at the Frederick theatre are Way Off Broadway's interactive murder mysteries where the audience gets involved and helps to solve the case at hand. In recent years, the mysteries have been set to the backdrop of a competitive cooking show, a drag night club, and a talent contest, much like American Idol. Way Off Broadway and Justin M. Kiska, the author of the theatre's interactive mysteries, are adding a new case to their crime files this year with The Campaign Caper, which will have performances Wednesday, October 24th and Thursday, October 25th.

Bill Kenwright and John Miller present a strictly limited West End season of SOUL SISTER, the new musical inspired by the music, life and times of Ike and Tina Turner, premiered at the Hackney Empire. The show will then tour the UK and Ireland from 1 October - 8 December, playing York, Milton Keynes, Dublin, Coventry, High Wycombe, Southampton, Darlington, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

For the first time ever, the musical Carrie has been preserved in a cast recording of the recent MCC Theater Off-Broadway revival. The cast of the revival - including headliners Marin Mazzie and Molly Ranson - will appear at Barnes & Noble (Upper East Side, 86th/Lex) on September 25 to sign copies of the album and perform selections from the show.
