Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma today announced major casting decisions for its 50th Anniversary Season in 2013, featuring new and returning national talent including Helen Hedman, Eleasha Gamble, Mel Sagrado Maghuyop, Heather Geery-Mayfield and Tom Huston Orr. Scenic Designer Adam Koch (MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET) will also return to provide set design for TARZAN and BIG RIVER.

The play that started as a commemoration of Bob Wills' 100th birthday in 2005 is coming back to Austin for one final week of shows in February 2013. This first-ever musical drama about the legendary Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys debuted in Austin in 2005 and has since enjoyed great success in more than 70 performances in 19 cities.

The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, will present an all-star cast in the World Premiere of NOW AND FOREVER: The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, featuring the legendary composer's greatest musical treasures. The production, which launches the 2013 season, will preview January 16, open January 23 and run through March 17.

Acclaimed singer and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway will return to Birdland Jazz Club from January 22 to 26 with a special new show, "Bridges" - inspired by the song by Brazilian composer Milton Nascimento. The show will feature songs such as 'Let's Call the Whole Thing Off', "Chelsea Bridge", 'How Do You Keep the Music Playing?', "No One Is Alone" and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water." Her all-star trio will feature Ted Rosenthal at the piano, Martin Wind on bass and Tim Horner on drums. "Bridges" explores songs about how people connect and move beyond their differences, inhibitions and fears. "I am responding to the extraordinary polarization in our country at this time, says Callaway. "During the recent election, people became so hostile, forgetting about what they had in common and focusing only on their differences. Music has the power to heal and so I am offering a show that puts a new light on things for this new year, using the symbol of a bridge as a beautiful image to contemplate in all its forms." Callaway was recently honored with two BroadwayWorld.com New York Cabaret Awards for Cabaret Show of the Year and Best Tribute Show for "The Streisand Songbook" at 54 Below.

The Off-Broadway theatre company The Shelter - an ensemble of writers, directors, actors and designers developing original works for the stage - will present the world premiere of their newest work, GHOST LIGHT, a collection of six original short plays performed on a bare stage below a single light. By using simple props and physical ingenuity, the cast of three whizzes through a multitude of characters, conjuring all the drama, wit and suspense of an action flick. The Mark of Zorro will run at The New Victory Theater, 209 West 42nd Street, from February 8 through February 24, 2013.
WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the line-up for the 2013 Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, March 7-17, 2013 at the Addison Theatre and Conference Centre. Several changes highlight this year's Festival including a focus on Dallas-area artists, more performances of each show, many new artists, as well as a few returning favorites. Six Degrees of Separation, a New York Drama Critics' Circle Best Play Winner by John Guare, will open at Theatre Memphis January 25, 2013, and run through February 10, 2013, on the Lohrey Stage. The plot surrounds a wounded young man who cons his way into the home of an upscale art dealer and his wife by claiming he is a friend of their son. The lie is exposed when he abuses their generosity and he then plots another scam that includes his claim of being a part of their family. There are tumultuous and deadly results as the mother seeks resolution and as she aches to protect her family and to find her connection to the world.
Playhouse in the Park Artistic Director Blake Robison announced today the appointment of three associate artists for the theatre. Timothy Douglas, KJ Sanchez and Michael Evan Haney will work with Robison as the institution's primary artists for the next two seasons.
