Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) has announced that Martha Clarke and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins have joined the Residency Five program, which provides five-year residencies for multiple playwrights, guaranteeing three full productions of new work over the course of each playwright's residency. The other artists currently in the Residency Five program are Annie Baker, Will Eno, Katori Hall, Kenneth Lonergan, and Regina Taylor.

America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, Music Mountain will celebrate its 84th Anniversary Season starting June 16th, with a 12-week schedule featuring seventeen Chamber Music concerts, a twilight series of Jazz, Big Band and Country Music concerts, a unique evening devoted to Gilbert & Sullivan and the first ever Folk Music Jamboree. '2013 is going to be another great year at Music Mountain," stated Music Mountain's board president Nicholas Gordon. "The season opens with the extraordinary cellist Matt Haimowitz in a sonata program [and] continues with wonderful quartets and impressive assisting artists. Our theme this year is 'Seldom Played Works by Celebrated Composers'; an example of this is the Bartok Piano Quintet (July 14), which has never been performed before at Music Mountain and the Dohnanyi Piano Quintet # 2 in E Flat Major (August 10), last played here in 1941."

Blue Balloon Productions is proud to present a production workshop presentation of R-E-B-E-C-C-A, written and performed by Sara Farb. This unique solo piece is based on her sister who was born seven weeks prematurely in the month of May, and was diagnosed as mentally retarded at a very young age. The story centres on this real-life Rebecca, as well as on an alternate Rebecca - the one that might have been, had she been born in July - as they celebrate their respective 18th birthdays. These two Rebeccas, although universes apart, ultimately manage to find a connection and unite in a strange and powerful way.

The 2013 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival continues with a weekend of top notch sketch comedy. The sketch portion of the festival runs Thursday, February 7-Sunday, February 10. The sketch line-up features acts from all over the country and is highlighted by an appearance from the Second City Touring Company and an evening with Kevin Allison's RISK!, a live storytelling event. Lucy Loves Me will begin performances Off-Broadway Friday February 22nd continuing through March 24th. Pinkolandia begins performances Friday, May 3rd and will continue through May 26th. Both Lucy Loves Me and Pinkoldandia are products of INTAR's legendary Maria Irene Fornés Hispanic Playwrights-in-Residence Laboratory (MIF HPRL).
