The Conejo Players Theatre will hold auditions for VANITIES, directed by Ken Patton, January 30th-31st, and February 1st. Conductor Daniel Harding will make his debut performance with the New York Philharmonic on Thursday, March 3 at 7:30 PM at Avery Fisher Hall, with additional concerts on Friday, March 4 at 2:00 PM and Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 PM. Mr. Harding, who has been described by the New York Times as 'one of the consequential artists of his generation,' will lead the ensemble in Mahler's Symphony No. 4, with soprano Lisa Milne singing Das himmlische Leben, a ‘Humoresque' for voice and orchestra which serves as the symphony's culminating fourth movement. The program will also feature concertmaster Glenn Dicterow in a performance of Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1, a work marked by the composer's unique musical language which spans late Romanticism, impressionism, and polytonality.

A haunting American classic, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL marks the first Cleveland Play House production of a work by Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winner Horton Foote, and the world-premiere performance of this play by an African-American cast. Receiving the blessing of Hallie Foote, daughter of the playwright, this co-production with Round House Theatre is helmed by Timothy Douglas and stars preeminent African-American actress Lizan Mitchell as Carrie Watts. THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL begins in the Drury Theatre at Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 4 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011. RAGTIME, a Tony Award-winning musical portrait of life in turn-of-the-century America, will be presented this month at Northwestern University as the 69th Annual Dolphin Show. The show is one of the country's largest student-produced musicals.

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 53rd season with Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment. The Daughter of the Regiment will be performed in English. This will be the Company's final season in the Lyric Theatre. Beginning in the fall of 2011, the Lyric Opera will perform at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
