AFI FEST presented by Audi will close with the World Premiere of Focus Features and Working Title's MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS.  Directed by Josie Rourke and written by Academy Award® nominee Beau Willimon, the historical drama is based on John Guy's biography, “Queen of Scots: The True Life of Mary Stuart.”  The film stars Academy Award® nominees Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, along with Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Martin Compston, Ismael Cordova, Brendan Coyle, Ian Hart, Adrian Lester, James McArdle, David Tennant and Guy Pearce.  The Closing Night Gala will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.

Unstoppable showman Elton John has added 25 more dates to his tour, according to Variety.  He's added multiple dates in Las Vegas, Philadelphia and several Canadian cities, among other stops. See the full list of the added stops below. 

The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) revealed the programming of its 16th edition, which will take place from the 20th to the 28th of October 2018.

This year, conceptualist-as-artist Machine Dazzle will serve as Grand Marshal in New York City's 45th Annual Village Halloween Parade. Machine will dazzle the streets of New York City, just as he has since his arrival in the Big Apple in 1994. The costume designer extraordinaire will lead parade-revelers up Sixth Avenue and exhibit his talents in a look that will bring to life this year's theme: “I AM a Robot!”

Atlantic recording artist Gucci Mane and international DJ/producer Carnage have announced plans for a major North American co-headlining tour. The Unusual Suspects Tour – with support from Florida rapper Smokepurpp – gets underway on November 7th at Myth Live in St. Paul, Minnesota, and comes to an end on December 7th in San Francisco at the historic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.  Tickets for all dates of The Unusual Suspects Tour go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, September 28th at 10am (local).

NBC's longest-running primetime series, Dateline NBC, begins its 27th season on Friday, September 28, with an all-new broadcast at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT. Leading up to the series premiere, Oxygen will run an all-day Dateline: Secrets Uncovered marathon.

The fourth annual  Maui Songwriters Festival presented by BMI, happening November 29th- December 1st, combines the lush landscapes and local flavor of Maui with the international acclaim of music's best songwriters. Hosted by Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, this one-of-a-kind festival puts a spotlight on the art of songwriting with intimate sets from an all-star line-up. Country music superstar Miranda Lambert will be headlining the festival along with a  special performance with her supergroup, the Pistol Annies. Yowler is the Philadelphia-based solo project of Maryn Jones, who has been recording and releasing music online and in burned cd, tape and record form since as early as 2004. What started out in 2013 as a conceptual project where dark thoughts and too-quiet moments could be placed, Yowler has become a main outlet for Jones' songwriting. After most recently being a part of the loud pop outfit All Dogs as songwriter, and long-time member and multi-instrumentalist in the psych-folk group Saintseneca, Jones has been focusing her musical time and energy on writing for Yowler, and collaborating with Philadelphia-based producer and engineer Kyle Gilbride to create the forthcoming Black Dog in My Path, to be released on October 12th.

Sundance Now, AMC Networks' direct-to-consumer SVOD service curated with high-quality dramas and crime thrillers, announced today that “Exeter,” its first-ever scripted podcast, will premiere Thursday, October 25th. Season 2 of the thriller podcast series has also been greenlit with new episodes slated to premiere in early 2019.

MSNBC anchors Chris Hayes, Ari Melber and Joy Reid, joined by NBC News and MSNBC correspondents Savannah Sellers and Jacob Soboroff, will host the MSNBC broadcast of the 2018 GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL on Saturday, September 29th.  Live MSNBC coverage will begin at 3 pm ET and will include behind-the-scenes access to the festival and interviews with performers, influencers, dignitaries and change-makers. The San Diego International Film Festival (SDiFF), produced by the San Diego Film Foundation, announced today that they have honored Emmy-nominee Kathryn Hahn, star of Tamara Jenkins' “Private Life” with the Fairbanks Award, to honor her contribution to independent film, John Cho, star of “Searching,” with the Spotlight Award which recognizes an actor with the tenacity to forge new ground within their craft, and Christian Navarro, from the Gala Feature “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” with the Rising Star Award. The awards will be presented October 11th at The Night of the Stars Tribute at the Pendry San Diego in Downtown San Diego, CA.
