Red Bull Music Festival Los Angeles (RBMF LA) explores how music intersects with film, gaming, photography and more. Today, another round of programming for the 2019 installment of the festival has been unveiled. The morning after Hollywood's biggest night, “Live with Kelly and Ryan” hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest will be up bright and early to continue the celebration with “Live's After Oscar Show.” The spectacular annual broadcast will air in national syndication on Monday, Feb. 25, live at 9:00 a.m. EST.  

NBC will air its annual high-stakes international ninja competition special “USA Vs. the World” on Sunday, Jan. 27 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT).

Sundance Institute will gather 20 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with 12 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 2 that will be livestreamed at sundance.org and on YouTube. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 29 and will also be livestreamed. The Festival takes place January 24 through February 3 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

Netflix has announced that The Kominsky Method  will return for a second season. Season 2 will consist of 8 episodes and production is slated to begin late January 2019 in Los Angeles. Douglas, Arkin, Sarah Baker and Nancy Travis return as series regulars.

Tolkien, the Fox Searchlight film about the Lord of the Rings author is set to open in theaters on May 10, according to Deadline.

The CW drama series Riverdale is set to air the season three musical episode this Wednesday, according to TVLine. The episode will feature a staging of Heathers: The Musical, based on the 1989 cult hit film starring Wynona Ryder and Christian Slater.

 The North American Box Office was no match for the Dragon Ball franchise and its Super Saiyan warriors. “Dragon Ball Super: Broly,” the highly-anticipated new anime feature from Funimation Films, the theatrical division of Sony Pictures Television's Funimation, opened as the #1 movie in the U.S. with a stunning $7M+ box office on its first day. Opening on 1,440 screens including 180 IMAX and Cinemark XD premium large format screens, “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” also took 1st place among the Top 10 movies with a $5,695 per screen average. Based on yesterday's box office, “Dragon Ball Super: Broly,” the 20th Dragon Ball feature film, is the biggest opening for an event film ever as well as the 5th highest earning anime theatrical opening of all time. The film's $7M+ box office also sets a new opening day record for Funimation Films. The previous record was $1.97M set in 2015 by “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F',” the 19th Dragon Ball film.

USA Network has given a name to the upcoming Suits spinoff off starring Gina Torres, according to Deadline. The series will be called Pearson after the lead character, Jessica Pearson.

Fabien Frankel has been cast as the lead in the upcoming 'NYPD Blue' sequel set at ABC, according to Variety. Frankel will play Theo Sipowicz in the pilot.
