Austin's The Black Drumset Announce New AlbumJanuary 18, 2019Austin-based band The Black Drumset will release their new album Charged on March 8. The album is available to pre-order now at Bandcamp. This week the band revealed the official video for 'There's A Shark In The Boat,' the first single from Charged. The video premiered at New Noise Magazine and can also be shared at YouTube. About the song The Black Drumset's Brian Willey told New Noise Magazine, 'The song title is inspired by the feeling of suddenly realizing there is real danger in a situation and you've got to focus and take immediate action to avoid disaster. Humans are really good at denying danger until its too late. The lyrics are written in the language of an interpersonal relationship, but its really about a dangerously divided society.'
Arctic Monkeys Make Austin City Limits TV DebutJanuary 18, 2019Arctic Monkeys brought a little something special to their Austin City Limits TV taping recently. The English band, who are currently nominated for two GRAMMY Awards and a BRIT Award for their 6th album Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino, took the legendary TV studio's stage back in October when in town as one of the festival's headliners. Arctic Monkeys brought creative director and video director Ben Chappell along for the taping who used two Ikegami ITC 730a Colour Tube Cameras to create a uniquely vintage look. Ben and his team worked with the ACL director and crew to include the vintage cameras for a look that harks back to the early days of music television. The result can be see this weekend when PBS airs the performance.
