SHOWTIME announced today it has acquired U.S. rights to THE GO-GO'S, a feature documentary about the most successful female rock band of all time, with plans to premiere the film later this year. Alison Ellwood (HISTORY OF THE EAGLES, American Jihad) will direct the project. The band granted full access for this textured biography featuring candid interviews and archival footage to tell the real story of their meteoric rise to fame and the journeys, triumphs, laughter and struggles along the way.

Premium network EPIX® has greenlit Slow Burn, a six-episode docuseries based on the hit podcast of the same name.  From Nixon and Watergate to Clinton's impeachment, host Leon Neyfakh excavates the strange subplots and forgotten characters involved in the downfall of a president—flashing back to politically tumultuous times not so far removed from today.  Slow Burn, winner of Best Podcast at the first iHeartRadio Podcast Awards, is produced by Slate. The docuseries will be produced in partnership between Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company, and Slate.

The Oscar®-nominated documentary short, PERIOD. END OF SENTENCE., will launch globally on Netflix  on February 12th. Directed by Rayka Zehtabchi, PERIOD. END OF SENTENCE. follows a group of women and girls in rural India who work together to operate a machine installed in their village to make sanitary pads and combat the crushing stigma of menstruation.  Acquired last month by Netflix, the film is produced by Zehtabchi, Los Angeles English teacher Melissa Berton, Garrett Schiff, and Lisa Taback. Avery Siegel, Carly Gatto, Charlotte Silverman, Claire Sliney, Helen Yenser, Ruby Schiff, Sophie Ascheim, Guneet Monga, Mandakini Kakar, Stacey Sher, Doug Blush, Anissa Siegel, and Bob Gatto executive produced the short film.

EPIX, the premium TV network owned by Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), today announced the launch of EPIX NOW, the network's new streaming service available through partner app stores, featuring its full library of critically acclaimed original programming and blockbuster movies. The app is available for download today in the App store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV and in Google Play for Android phones and tablets. It will also be coming soon to Roku®devices and Amazon Fire TV. The service will continue rolling out across additional devices over the course of the year. 

It was announced that Maisie Williams is set to star in the 90's-set thriller THE OWNERS, directed by Julius Berg, with a screenplay by Berg and Matthieu Gompel, based on comic book from renowned artist Herrmann and written by Yves H. The film is produced by Alain de la Mata at UK-based Bluelight, and executive produced by XYZ Films. XYZ will handle North American sales with Versatile handling international at the upcoming EFM in Berlin. The film will shoot this spring in Kent, close to London, in an isolated Victorian mansion, with casting by Dan Hubbard.

A few times each year, five-time GRAMMY award-winning bass player, producer, composer, author, and educator Victor Wooten hosts a series of music and nature camps at his namesake Center for Music and Nature, an all ages camp retreat located near Nashville, TN. Teaching not only music, these camps teach theory, nature, and most importantly, the relationship between music, nature and life.
