Sony Electronics Inc. is introducing Sony Digital Cinema, the company's experiential premium large-format (PLF) movie theater auditorium.  Working in conjunction with state-of-the-art movie theater company, Galaxy Theatres, the world's first location will debut at their Las Vegas Boulevard Mall venue, which is planned to open in spring 2019.

The Polar Music Prize, one of the world's most prestigious music awards, now in its 28th year, has announced that the 2019 Laureates are hip hop pioneer Joseph Saddler, known as Grandmaster Flash, queen of the violin, Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the music charity The Playing For Change Foundation, part of the Playing For Change movement. Each Laureate receives prize money of one million Swedish Kronor. (approx. GB £86,000 / US $110,000).  The Awards will be presented at a gala ceremony and banquet at Stockholm's Grand Hôtel by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on Tuesday 11 June. The event will be broadcast live on Swedish national television (TV4) at 8pm CET and can be viewed throughout Europe via TV4 Play.

 For its 5th edition, Toronto's premiere celebration of eccentric movies and media, WHAT THE FILM FESTIVAL, will take over the first weekend of March (1st - 3rd) at The Royal Cinema, hosting six eclectic feature films, including the Toronto Premiere of A BREAD FACTORY. Last week Bob Mould released the album Sunshine Rock - a fresh and albeit glowing new collection that critics have spent the last few days raving about. Tomorrow Mould is set to start his international tour in support of the album. It's a journey that will take him across the United States and through Europe, including two shows the weekend of March 30-31 in Minnesota at The Palace and Turf Club in St. Paul (the very city where his legendary archetypal band Hüsker Dü formed) that mark Mould's 40th anniversary on the stage.
