Fresh from the premiere of the project at Field Day in Australia, Perth bass producer Luude and cousin Tim Benson unveil their new tech/house project and collaboration Choomba. With their debut EP “Choomdooskins” set for release on February 13th, they will embark on a mini-tour in spring in Australia and New Zealand in support of the new project.

Los Angeles-based artist SASAMI has shared a video for 'Free,' the latest track from her anticipated self-titled debut album, out March 8th via Domino. Noisey, who premiered the video today are calling it 'dynamic, introspective, and cathartic.' The video for 'Free' was directed by Riley Blakeway (Liars, Cherry Glazerr) and shot in Australia earlier this year. 'Free' features additional vocals by Devendra Banhart.

Desus Nice and The Kid Mero will welcome fellow Bronx native Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) as the first guest in studio on their new SHOWTIME weekly half-hour late-night talk show, DESUS & MERO. The series will premiere on Thursday, February 21 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and air on Thursday nights from New York City. In the premiere episode, the duo will also visit the Congresswoman's new offices in D.C. determined to make her feel at home, as well as give their take on the day's hot topics in their signature style in front of a small live studio audience. As the massive renovation continues at The Brady Bunch house, HGTV is looking to America's biggest Brady fans to help it complete the design of the famous television family home. The Rembrandts—the pop-rock duo of multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Phil Solem and Danny Wilde, have signed a new record deal with Blue Elan Records and are set to release their new studio album, Via Satellite, on August 23, 2019.  Before the album hits, the duo will preview the new songs at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin – on March 15, 2019 at Lambert's BBQ.

Big Search has announced a new album Slow Fascination to be released April 12 on Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records (Broken Bells, Grandaddy, The Babe Rainbow). The LA artist Matt Popieluch worked with producer Rob Barbato (Kevin Morby, Girlpool, Cass McCombs) to expand upon his reputation for twelve-string guitar, bringing in harpsichord, synthesizer and piano to devise his most sonically dynamic offering yet. Guest vocalists including The Shins' James Mercer, Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste and Kacey Johansing further intensify the collection. 

The programs of Kent Tritle's spring 2019 concerts offer a display of the conductor's work on both a grand and intimate scale. 'New York's choral conducting superstar' (Time Out New York), leads the Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall in Sibelius's massive Kullervo, and in Verdi's mighty Requiem. Narrowing the lens, he conducts Musica Sacra in an a cappella program of works interleaving the Renaissance William Byrd's Mass for Five Voices with new works, including the world premiere of Migration by Michael Gilbertson for choir and cello; and he leads the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra of St. John the Divine in a program of music by Poulenc and the Faure Requiem.

Trinity Church Wall Street's Time's Arrow festival (March 5-9), known for its signature combination of early and new music, focuses this spring on amplifying the voices of female artists and exploring sensitive contemporary themes. The centerpiece of the festival is a juxtaposition of two musical portraits of the biblical figure Susanna: Handel's oratorio Susanna, and Artemisia, an opera by Laura Elise Schwendinger, with a libretto by Ginger Strand. Complementing these large-scale pieces is a concert centered on works by Barbara Strozzi, the most prolific composer of secular vocal music in Venice in the mid-17th century and a renowned poet who likely wrote many of her own texts. Performed by Trinity Choir soprano Molly Netter, the concert also features world premieres by Jessica Meyer, Doug Balliett, Alyssa Weinberg, and others (March 8). A Pipes at One concert on that same day, featuring Trinity Associate Organist Janet Yieh, will also reflect the Time's Arrow theme, with compositions by Rachel Laurin, Florence Price, Lili Boulanger, Clara Schumann, and others. All performances take place in the intimate surroundings of St. Paul's Chapel, a Georgian-era gem just a few blocks north of Trinity, and the oldest public building in continuous use in Manhattan.

Denver trio Yawpers will release a new album Human Question (ALBUM PRE-ORDER LINK) on April 19. New Noise Magazine announced the album, an album-supporting tour, and debuted the new song 'Child of Mercy.'

Promethea in Prison is an innovative public health project that stages readings of Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound, an ancient Greek play about a god who is imprisoned for stealing fire from Zeus and giving it to humans.  The reading is used as a catalyst for powerful discussions about the challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities whose lives have been touched by the criminal justice system. For the past decade, this groundbreaking project has been performed to encourage dialogue in a variety of settings throughout the country and the world.

Cellist Amanda Gookin takes a major step forward in her mission to make classical music an active force for political good with her Forward Music Project on March 29 at 9:00 p.m. inside Dupont Underground.  Praised for "Gookin's focus and ferocity-coupled with expert technical work" (The Strad), Forward Music Project is presented by National Sawdust Projects-the producing arm of National Sawdust. As part of DIRECT CURRENT's initiative to take Kennedy Center artists and programming out into the world beyond the traditional concert hall, Forward Music Project reaches new Washington-area audiences at Dupont Underground, a reclaimed 75,000-square-foot art exhibition and performance space built inside the only underground station in D.C.'s old streetcar system.
