Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

The concept: take one of the most successful rock albums of this generation and turn it into a Broadway musical - without adding a stitch (or nearly) of dialogue. The experiment, so far, has been a success, managing to win over theater minds largely unfamiliar with the rock/grunge genre, as well as music fans who, prior to it's opening, had never stepped foot in a Broadway house.

However, it was perhaps only a matter of time before The O'Reilly Factor's Bill O'Reilly found issue with his network's hit comedy GLEE. Last night, O'Reilly dedicated a special segment of his program to discussing the dangers and insensitivity of GLEE for its stabs at conservatives Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin during the Power of Madonna episode that aired on Tuesday.

On Monday, April 19, Mother and Child, a drama film directed and written by Rodrigo García premiered at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. The film, which stars Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps premiered on September 14, 2009 at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival and at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2010. It is scheduled to have a limited release in the United States on May 7, 2010.

The production, which follows a couple who endeavors to achieve the ultimate relationship via therapy, runs through May 9 at Mineral's Lounge Theater 2. Mike O'Malley, Mineral's Artistic Director who has guest starred on GLEE, produces. Missy Yager directs.

Broadway veterans John Treacy Egan (Jekyll & Hyde, The Little Mermaid) and Christian Borle (Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins) recently recorded a song for the NPR radio series 'This American Dream,' entitled 'Bet Against the American Dream.' Written by Tony Award winning composer and lyricist of Avenue Q, Robert Lopez, the tune appeared in the April 9 episode entitled 'Inside Job.' Bruce Coughlin orchestrated the song while Stephen Oremus acted as music supervisor/producer.

On Monday, April 19, the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama hosted the 2009-2010 IRNE Awards ceremony, honoring the best in Boston theater. A party for all of the nominees was held from 7-8 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony. Many Broadway names were honored, including actress Rachel York and directors Diane Paulus and Kenny Leon.

Ottmar Liebert & Luna Negra have recorded and toured for many years. This year marks the twentieth anniversary for Ottmar's debut album 'Nouveau Flamenco', released in April of 1990, and the twentieth year of Ottmar touring with Luna Negra. Liebert has been regarded as ‘the high bar' of modern, world, flamenco guitar. Since 1990 he has released a total of 25 recordings including 14 CDs of original music, five of which were nominated for Grammys. Ottmar has sold over 5 million CD's in the U.S., and has 30 Gold and Platinum awards to his credit.

The 2010 participants include playwrights Sharon Bridgforth, Sarah Hammond and Susan Mosakowski, and musical teams Randy Blair and Timothy Michael Drucker, and Zach Redler and Sara Cooper.

Feinstein's at Lowes Regency, continues its Spring 2010 season with the return of the young identical twin brothers Will & Anthony Nunziata after two sold-out performances last fall. Their new show, 'From Pelham to Park Avenue,' features songs from Broadway by Stephen Sondheim ('Pretty Women'), Jule Styne ('Make Someone Happy') and Frank Loesser ('I Believe In You'), Italian classics ('Funniculi, Funnicula') and numbers from newer songwriters like Michael Feinstein ('Swing Is Back In Style'). The engagement - which is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and features Music Director Ben Toth on piano and Jered Egan on bass - opened at Feinstein's last night, April 20.
