Jennifer Broski

Born and raised in Maine, she fell in love with the city while still in high school. After a year at Marymount Manhattan College, she returned home to finish her education (go Black Bears!), though she left a piece of her heart here. She spent a few years in Northampton, MA, before finally returning to the city she loved. She’s worn many hats—writer, bookseller, merch girl, and more—but  photographer is her favorite. She’s been shooting for BWW since 2011, but has been holding a camera for as long as she can remember. In her down time, you’ll find her digging at a record store (tracking down every bit of Tori Amos music and memorabilia she can find), baking, or checking up on feral cats nearby. And she’s still a big kid who loves all things Muppet. She swears she’ll finish her novel someday.

Broadway history has been made! For the first time ever, two Mexican-born actors are leading a Broadway musical. Latin superstars, and long-time friends, Bianca Marroquin and Jaime Camil will appear on stage opposite each other as 'Roxie Hart' and 'Billy Flynn' for 24 performances only through Sunday, July 31st  (when Mr. Camil ends his run).  Marroquin will continue in her role through Sunday, August 21st at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St., NYC). THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS will take place on Monday, June 27th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. The six coaches -- GAVIN CREEL, EDEN ESPINOSA, JOSE LLANA, MICHAEL MCELROY, HOWARD MCGILLIN and KAREN OLIVO will mentor the sixty-two high school students from across America as they compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress. The two-hour talent showcase will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will be hosted by 2016 Tony Award nominee ZACHARY LEVI, currently starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me on Broadway.

Earlier today, Actors' Equity Association presented Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed with the tenth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Presented by Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, the play is the sixth and final production of the theater company's acclaimed 2015/2016 Season. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).
