Over this time, UCP has transformed nearly a dozen spaces in the downtown area into new exhibition, performance, and studio spaces, creating a cross-disciplinary platform and hub for the generation and presentation of original work, projects, and ideas, and encouraging creative collaboration and exchange among artists and audiences from various disciplines and backgrounds.
Casting Announced for HOLIDAY SONGBOOK Concert, 12/13December 7, 2009The Arts and Artists of St. Paul will present their annual HOLIDAY SONGBOOK on December 13th at the New York Public Library at the Bruno Walter Auditorium. The concert will be directed by John Znidarsic, who also hosts and produces the event. The free concert will begin at 2:30pm.
Culture Clash Gets Residency at Revitalized Westlake TheatreDecember 2, 2009The LA Times is reporting that Community Redevelopment Agency of the city of Los Angeles is undertaking an initiative to revamp the Westlake Theatre. The Agency plans to make the space into a performance and multimedia center, with facilities for stage and music performances, film, and community and social events. In addition, the Latino performance ensemble, Culture Clash, is set to become the resident theatre company of the space.

Langella Joins Boston Pops for Holiday Concert, 12/16December 2, 2009Tony Award winner Frank Langella will join Grammy Award winner Debbie Moore for a holiday concert with the Boston Pops. The concert is the 26th annual presentation of 'A Company Christmas at Pops.' The concert will take place December 16th at the Symphony Hall in Boston. Keith Lockhart will conduct.
Melissa James Gibson's THIS Opens Off-Broadway Tonight, 12/2December 2, 2009Melissa James Gibson's new play THIS opens off-Broadway tonight at Playwright's Horizons. Previews for THIS began November 6th and will play through December 13th. Susan Boyle Sets Record for Best Selling Debut Album in U.K.November 30, 2009Susan Boyle, runner up in the British television show 'Britain's Got Talent' has set the record for the fastest selling debut album in the United Kingdom. The album, I Dreamed a Dream, sold more than 410,000 copies in its first week. The first single from the album, Wild Horses, debuted at number 9 on the charts.
