Jason Robert Brown’s THE LAST FIVE YEARS Comes to The Grove on March 9
February 21, 2012

For one night only, Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years comes to The Grove on March 9th. An emotionally powerful and intimate musical is a contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up... or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. It's the story of two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Genesis Ensemble Presents THE REST UNKNOWN, 3/16-21
February 21, 2012

Genesis Ensemble, a Chicago theater and performance company, has taken over three empty storefronts in Jefferson Park to lead the curious on an interactive tour of art and performance inspired by Maira Kalman's idiosyncratic book The Principles of Uncertainty. And the resulting jaunt - a tour of whimsy and wonder - suggests what might happen if we all took life a bit slower and relished in the particulars of the world around us.
