Dallas Theater Center Announces Cast and Design Team of NEXT FALLFebruary 22, 2012Dallas Theater Center announced today the cast of Next Fall, which runs at the Kalita Humphreys Theater April 13 - May 6, 2012.
Terry Martin and DTC Brierley Resident Acting Company member Steven Michael Walters will lead the cast as Adam (Martin) and Luke (Walters). Martin is Producing Artistic Director at WaterTower Theatre and is making his DTC debut. Walters is Co-Artistic Director of Second Thought Theatre and appeared in this season's productions of The Tempest and A Christmas Carol.
Opening Weekend of Soundtheater/Opera HAMLET RescheduledFebruary 22, 2012Due to technical difficulties, the official opening night of Carson Kievman's 'HAMLET Soundtheater/Opera,' at SoBe Arts' Little Stage Theater, will be moved to Friday, March 2. Additional performances will take place (as previously scheduled) through March 11, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
Michael Feinstein Comes to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 3/15 February 22, 2012Five-time Grammy® nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein comes to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on March 15. Feinstein will perform selections from his 2008 CD tribute to Frank Sinatra, The Sinatra Project, as well as his recent follow-up album, The Sinatra Project, Volume II - The Good Life.
Kaye Ballard, Liliane Montevecchi Star in DOIN IT FOR LOVE, 3/9-10February 22, 2012Hollywood and Broadway award-winners Kaye Ballard, Liliane Montevecchi, and Lee Roy Reams are to star in "Doin' It For Love," a Broadway-style tribute to the standards and the stories behind the music. Celebrating the finale of its Southwest Tour in Los Angeles on March 9 and 10, "Doin' It For Love" features a 10-piece orchestra conducted onstage by David Geist, the show's music director. Hilary Knight, the internationally renowned artist and illustrator, designed the poster art and collectables for the show. The profits from "Doin' It For Love" will go to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Investigation and Rescue Fund supporting undercover investigations and animal rescue efforts.
