My Brooklyn Hamlet is Brenda's one-woman show about family, murder, love betrayal and the power of forgiveness. In 1995 Brenda's mother was shot and killed by her father, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Her father served two years in prison and upon release married her aunt, sending Brenda into a deep depression that could only be saved by her writing and performing.
