David Garrett comes full circle with his new classical recording of Beethoven and Kreisler, Legacy, to be released June 5th on Decca, along with stand-alone concert DVD Legacy Live. Both represent David's dual career, bridging his crossover repertoire with his classical career that began at age 9 when played his first symphony concerts, to later signing a deal with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label at 14. Landing at #1 on the top of the UK's classical chart, Legacy also achieved platinum status in Germany, where it was the highest debut on the Pop Chart for a classical instrumental recording since the inception of that chart in 1962.

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium, announces that more than 25,000 tickets to the Dallas Opera's one-night-only April 28th Cowboys Stadium Simulcast, presented by The Dallas Foundation, have been requested by opera lovers from throughout Texas and 26 additional states. Ticket requests have also come in from the District of Columbia and Canada since the joint announcement was made on January 26th at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Established in 2000, the award is named after Howard Kleinberg, long-time Editor of The Miami News, historian, and author of numerous articles and books on the social and cultural history of Miami and South Florida. It is awarded as special recognition for contributions to the health and development of the arts in South Florida. This year's honor will go to Mary A. Becht.

Atlanta Opera Zurich General Director Dennis Hanthorn today announced the Atlanta Opera's 2012-2013 season. The Atlanta Opera's 2012-2013 mainstage productions at the Cobb Energy Centre will feature Bizet's popular classic Carmen, November 10-18, 2012; Verdi's tragic and romantic opera La traviata, March 2-10, 2013; and Rossini's comic opera The Italian Girl in Algiers, April 27-May 5, 2013. Season tickets are now on sale for the three Atlanta Opera mainstage productions at Cobb Energy Centre. Also announced were a donor benefits program called MyOpera, a completely new approach to issuing donor benefits in the world of the performing arts; 2012-2013 community engagement initiatives, including the hugely successful 24-Hour Opera Project and High School Opera Institute; and the details of the 2012 Atlanta Opera Ball: A Night in Seville, a fundraiser supporting and sustaining the exceptional artistic quality of The Atlanta Opera. This evening, hosted by Rick and Deann Bayless and Donna LaPietra and Bill Kurtis, and chaired by Stephen Flach and Chris Fryson, with honorary chair Mayor Rahm Emanuel, civic committee chair Barbara Levy Kipper and arts committee chair Jim Belushi, will highlight student and alumni art and performance alongside the dazzling cuisine of Chicago's top chefs, including Rick Bayless, Sarah Grueneberg, Tony Mantuano, Stephanie Izard, Chris Jones, Richie Farina, Dale Levitski, Amanda Rockman, Heather Terhune and Takashi Yagihashi.
