The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, celebrates musical revues with the season opener of the Winter 2016 Musicals in Mufti Series: DON'T BOTHER ME, I CAN'T COPE, a musical entertainment with by Micki Grant, conceived by Vinnette Carroll. 

Broadway by the Year, now in its 16th season at The Town Hall, once again re-invents itself to bring a fresh and exciting new perspective to The Great White Way's classic show tunes. This season, series creator / writer / director / host Scott Siegel will use each of the four BBTY concerts to explore the ever-popular music that was born on Broadway over four formative decades.

Signature Theatre presents a special return engagement of Old Hats, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub, directed by Tina Landau. The production officially opened last night, February 18, and will now play an extended run through April 3, 2016 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The musical is co-directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Sergio Trujillo. A BRONX TALE: THE MUSICAL features a book by Chazz Palminteri, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater. A BRONX TALE: THE MUSICAL runs at the Millburn, New Jersey theater now through March 6, 2016. The official press opening was last night, February 14. He's going to put a smile on your face and song in your heart. MAURICE HINES TAPPIN' THRU LIFE is a swinging, song and dance musical that celebrates the astonishing showmanship of one of the last great tap dancers of a by-gone era still working today and whose collaborators were a jaw-dropping, who's who of theatre, music, film and television. Co-starring the fierce tap dancing Manzari brothers and the all female vivacious Diva Jazz Orchestra, the show is directed by Jeff Calhoun (Newsies, Deaf West's Big River, Grease). Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, kicked off its 11th Season when it presents its 110th concert presentation with Shaw's comedy, IN GOOD KING CHARLES'S GOLDEN DAYS last night, January 11 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street). FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, just presented BENJAMIN EAKELEY in his solo cabaret debut, 'BROADWAY SWINGER.' Benjamin Eakeley and his four-piece jazz band reinterpret classic songs from the 1960s in a lounge act that chronicles the American stage's evolution from conservative to carefree. 'BROADWAY SWINGER' is a groovy romp through the decade that gave us Oliver!, Cabaret, Hair and Promises, Promises. True to its name, this swingin' show examines shifting attitudes toward relationships and sex as it explores life, love and everything in between.

Yesterday, December 20, in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute presented A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS in a special holiday Family Concert with  The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke. This staged concert version of the iconic television special brought the whole Peanuts gang to life through original choreography by director/choreographer Liza Gennaro, as performed by dancers from New York Theatre Ballet. Returning to The New York Pops Family Concert this season, Broadway actor John Bolton (Spamalot, Contact, Titanic) narrated the classic Christmas tale, with additional characters voiced by students from TADA! Youth Theater. Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA will join The New York Pops to perform Vince Guaraldi's memorable score.

Baritone Emmett O'Hanlon and Tenor Emmet Cahill bring their individual styles of performing to the stage together this December to celebrate the Christmas season.

The New York Tenors celebrated the holiday season last night at Carnegie Hall in an evening of Christmas spirit. All of the proceeds from this performance will go to Fr. Francis Pizzarelli and Hope House Ministries to support their efforts to help the lives of broken young people. Hope House Ministries' goal is to help these youths embrace and celebrate the spirit of hope and reclaim their lives. Check out photos from the special performance below!

New York personalities, style icons and real estate 'superbrokers' Tom Postilio & Mickey Conlon just hosted their annual holiday spectacular at the Edison Ball Room, honoring Frank Sinatra for his 100th birthday. The evening also featured special performances with a 16-piece Sinatra 100 Orchestra and a Sinatra memorabilia gallery. 

? Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA (EVUSA), one of New York's preeminent choral ensembles, presented SING CHRISTMAS, a sing-along of traditional carols and holiday songs by Broadway's finest, last night at Feinstein's / 54 Below.

THE HOPE OF CHRISTMAS is a new collection of Christmas songs interpreted by multiplatinum-selling singer, Tony nominated actress, pianist and leading champion of the American songbook, Ann Hampton Callaway, with lyrics by two-time Emmy® Award winner William Schermerhorn, and featuring twenty-nine of the world's best jazz musicians, including Five Play, New York Voices, Hubert Laws, Claudio Roditi, Gerald Albright, The Ted Rosenthal Trio and more. The recording will be released on Friday, October 9 by the MCG Jazz record label (Marty Ashby, producer).
