Paper Mill Playhouse opens its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere musical THE BANDSTAND. As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde), Corey Cott (Newsies, Gigi) and Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street) star in the show, which runs through Sunday, November 8, 2015. Just yesterday, Buddy the Elf, along with 95.5 PLJ on-air host John Foxx at Madison Square Garden in Chase Square challenged 15 pre-selected ELF fans to find Buddy's missing snow globe in a giant bowl filled with hundreds of pounds of "spaghetti" and all five of the ELF main food groups -- cookies, candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.  The first participant to find the snow globe inside the bowl of "spaghetti" will win a night out on the town in New York City including four premium tickets to opening night of ELF The Musical, a $200 gift card to Carmine's Italian Restaurant and 15,000 points to Starwood Hotels.

On October 9, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opened its 33rd season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage with My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The concert honored the duo's timeless work, which has captured the hearts of every generation of music lovers, and featured guest artists Sierra Boggess and Julian Ovenden (who replaced the previously announced Steven Pasquale), alongside Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA. Last night, Broadway stars Stephanie J. Block and Aaron Lazar performed in 'A Cabaret Evening' at 54 Below (254 West 54th Street). The evening was a joint benefit in support of The New York Pops PopsEd Programs and Ronald McDonald House New York. The two organizations partner to provide music education programs that serve as creative outlets for the children and families in residence.

Micky Dolenz is best known as the lead singer of the hugely successful rock 'n' roll band, The Monkees, which originated from the classic sixties TV show of the same name. The Monkees sold over 65 million records and has toured the U.S. (and much of the world) many times over. Micky has also starred in musicals on Broadway, the West End, and in national tours including Disney's AIDA (Broadway), Pippin, Hairspray (West End), Grease, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Tom Sawyer, and more.

Just yesterday, the Actors Fund officially renamed their Manhattan residence, "The Aurora," (West 57th and 10th Avenue) at a special ribbon cutting ceremony.  The residence will now be called "The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence."  Brian Stokes Mitchell and Chita Rivera were there for the occasion, and BroadwayWorld brings you an inside look at the festivities below!

Neil Byrne and Ryan Kelly are heading back on the road in the summer and fall of 2015 for another tour aptly named BYRNE AND KELLY. They will perform a mix of songs from their solo albums, some Celtic Thunder favorites and some new songs from an upcoming CD.

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, just presented its 106th production, A Chekhov and Shaw Comedy Night, last night, September 21 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2895 Broadway at 95th St.).

The John W. Engeman Theater is currently presenting WEST SIDE STORY, running through November 8, 2015. From the first notes to the final breath, WEST SIDE STORY is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. The well-known and beloved score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best ever written. The Broadway's greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark musical.

Playwrights Horizons and Center Theatre Group present The Christians, the New York premiere of a new play by Lucas Hnath (A Public Reading of an Unproduced Screenplay About the Death of Walt Disney, Isaac's Eye, Death Tax). Directed by Obie Award winnerLes Waters (Doris to Darlene at PH; the recent 10 Out of 12; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play; Big Love; eurydice), the play is the opening production of the theater company's 2015/2016 Season.

Broadway quadruple threat and Bistro Award winner, Robert Creighton, recently seen as the title character in the critically lauded CAGNEY at The York Theatre Company, returned to 54 Below on Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm with AN EVENING WITH ROBERT CREIGHTON. Creighton, one of the busiest actors working in the musical theater, will sing his favorite music from the early decades of the 20th Century, along with his original songs.
