The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that Broadway icon Chita Rivera will be honored with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Seventh Season Awards Gala taking place on Sunday, November 14th at The Hudson Theatre (145 W. 44th Street) beginning at 6:00pm. Director Robert Falls and actors Mary Beth Fisher and Francis Guinan talk about the process of bringing Anton Chekhov's The Seagull to Goodman Theatre at a special discussion on Sunday, November 7 at 6:30pm, following the matinee performance. Moderated by Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey, this conversation is part of the theater's Artists Talk series, a unique opportunity for audiences to connect directly with the artists from Goodman productions. The Howard County Arts Council is pleased to announce that Howard County business leaders and supporters of the arts and education, Elizabeth and Peter Horowitz will serve as Honorary Hosts of the 14th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County. CCTC Announces their revival of 'A Chicago Christmas Carol.' In this retelling of the Christmas classic we find Scrooge in the cold mean streets of an early 20th century Chicago. On Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 6 p.m. clarinetist Richard Stoltzman joins the Eroica Trio in a performance of Messiaen's haunting masterpiece Quartet for the End of Time. The work was the signature piece and the reason for the founding of Mr. Stoltzman's former chamber group, TASHI.

The National Danish Performance Team (NDPT) arrives on the Twin Cities scene to perform their unique, highly acclaimed, extreme gymnastics show, 'Connections.' Twin Cities' audiences can experience NDPT in a rare performance at Minnehaha Academy's North Campus in Minneapolis on Friday, November 5.

On Friday, November 19 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Broadway stars Kate Baldwin, Aaron Lazar, and Christiane Noll join The New York Pops, under the direction of Steven Reineke to celebrate the 80th birthday of legendary Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim-whose actual birthday was on March 22-is widely acknowledged as the most innovative and influential composer and lyricist in modern Broadway history. The concert will feature performances of some of the most beloved songs and soliloquies from Sondheim's extensive career.
