As part of a 15-city tour, hitting both coasts of the United States, Canada, Turkey, and Eastern Europe, pianist Michelle Schumann will be performing a solo recital on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 8:00 pm in New York City at the Ukrainian Institute of America. Winner of the 2006 Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, Schumann will present traditional Fantasies by Bach, Mozart, and Chopin interspersed with Fantasies and ‘almost-fantasies' by John Corigliano, Philip Glass, John Adams, Fazil Say, and David McIntyre- contemporary works written since 1975. Schumann's pianistic ‘stylings' morph one piece into the next creating a seamless thread from beginning to end.

The American Museum of Natural History will unveil the Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond for public view on Thursday, October 28, in the Museum's Harry Frank Guggenheim Hall of Minerals. The Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond is an extraordinary 31.06-carat natural fancy deep blue diamond that will be on display at the Museum through January 2011, courtesy of Laurence Graff.

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre today announced that, due to popular demand, the world premiere comedy, starring Helen Hayes Award winners Sherri L. Edelen (Signature's Sweeney Todd and Les Miserables) and Nancy Robinette, written and directed by Helen Hayes Awardee Joe Calarco (Signature's Side Show and Assassins), will now run from October 26 through December 26, 2010.

On Friday, October 29 at 8:00 p.m., Carnegie Hall presents a dynamic evening of classic American song featuring a duo performance by five-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, pianist, and renowned interpreter of the Great American Songbook Michael Feinstein and award-winning singer, stage, and screen actor Cheyenne Jackson. The performance-entitled The Power of Two after their 2009 album of the same name-will feature the duo performing pop songs, classic standards, and numbers from Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate, City of Angels, and The King and I. Off-Broadway's acclaimed Irish Repertory Theatre begins its 23rd Season with the world premiere of BANISHED CHILDREN OF EVE - a play by Kelly Younger, adapted from Peter Quinn's bestselling novel - set to begin previews October 13, prior to its official press opening October 24, at The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). Ciarán O'Reilly, who helmed last season's celebrated revival of THE EMPEROR JONES, directs.

As the 2011 Season is fast approaching, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has announced that it will add yet another regional premiere to its list of theatrical credits. Opening the theater's 17th Anniversary Season will be the over-the-top musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone, opening January 21st.

If It Only Even Runs A Minute 4 & 5 are the fourth and fifth editions of evenings of rare and inspiring songs, anecdotes, and photos from Broadway musicals that may not have been fully appreciated the first time around. As previously announced, three Boston theatre companies will engage in a landmark local collaboration this fall to produce breakout writer Annie Baker's first three plays - Circle Mirror Transformation, produced by the Huntington Theatre Company (October 15 - November 14), Body Awareness, produced by SpeakEasy Stage Company (October 22 - November 20), and The Aliens, produced by Company One (October 22 - November 20). All set in the fictional town of Shirley, VT, the plays will run together in the first-ever festival dedicated to the work of this wryly observant young writer, which will be curated by the Huntington Theatre Company.
