Blueprint Theater Project, Co-Founders/Artistic Directors Kevin Connell and Ellen Orenstein, present the World-Premiere of THE HUMAN VARIATIONS, an immersive, site-specific theatrical symphony that explores human interaction in our age of cyber intimacy. Preview performances of THE HUMAN VARIATIONS begin February 7 prior to an official press opening of February 10 at Red Roots Gallery (25 Central Park West, at 62nd Street) in Manhattan.

An advance screening of the 2012 film "Midnight's Children" will be shown at 7 p.m. Wed. Feb. 27, at Landmark Midtown Cinema, followed by a talkback with screenwriter Salman Rushdie, director Deepa Mehta and producer David Hamilton. GIFTS OF LOVE: THE WORDS AND MUSIC OF STEPHEN SCHWARTZ, a benefit concert featuring premiere talent from the musical theatre world, is to take place on February 10. Causey Contemporary will feature a selection of Behbahani's large-scale mixed media paintings from her My Faantazee series at their DUMBO location, marking the artist's first solo exhibition with the gallery. Her recent body of paintings, created in her Brooklyn studio, five years after relocating to the United States from Iran, were completed with an anticipated freedom from the feeling that "you had to live-did live, from habit that became instinct-in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized" (George Orwell, 1984). However, in My Faantazee, Behbahani found that the 'essence of being watched is universally infused.'

Producers of the 4th Annual Uptown Charlotte Jazz Fest have announced Jazz/R&B musician and instrumentalist, Brian Culbertson, will perform during the two-night festival on Friday, June 21. Culbertson joins BWB, a jazz band named after the three members: guitarist Norman Brown, saxophonist Kirk Whalum and trumpeter Rick Braun. More artists will be announced in the near future.
