This is 'Sunset Boulevard', a super production that premiered on March 22 at Teatro Santander, Sao Paulo, and marks the return to the stages of one of the most beloved Brazilian theater duo: Marisa Orth and Daniel Boaventura. They will be the protagonists of the seven Tony Awards winning musical, featuring songs by Andrew Lloyd Weber.

An exciting story of faith indicated for people of all religions, APARECIDA, by Walcyr Carrasco, and direction by Fernanda Chamma, will open at Teatro Bradesco on March 22. The first Brazilian theatrical adaptation for Dogville - masterpiece of the Danish filmmaker Lars Von Trier -, opens at Teatro Porto Seguro for the season from January 25 to March 31. The show that made great Off-Broadway success arrives in Sao Paulo and wins a Brazilian version with known names in the Brazilian musical theater scene. In an independent production financed with a crowdfunding campaign, bare (na pele) makes its opening on October 31, at Teatro Augusta.

Cantando na Chuva (Singin' in the Rain) leads the list with 11 nominations, followed by Romeu + Julieta, Natasha, Pierre e o Grande Cometa de 1812 and Peter Pan with nine. The musical was created by American composer Dave Malloy and became a big hit in his Broadway debut receiving 12 nominations at the 2017 Tony Awards. Directed by Ze Henrique de Paula and musical direction by Fernanda Maia the show takes place on 033 Rooftop  and features a conformation that promotes proximity and interaction between the audience, the cast and the orchestra. Bruna Guerin and Andre Frateschi are in the cast as Natasha and Pierre, while Gabriel Leone stands out in the role of the antagonist Anatole. 033 Rooftop offers an innovative culinary experience with Russian cuisine recipes.

With direction by Kleber Montanheiro, the musical tells the story of Carmen Miranda, the Brazilian Bombshell, from her arrival in Brazil as a child, through radio, her first recordings, Brazilian cinema and Cassino da Urca, to stardom in Hollywood movies. The play is an adaptation of the award-winning book of the same name by Heloisa Seixas and Julia Romeu, which tells and sings for the whole family the 46 years of life of this little girl who brought Brazilian music and culture to the four corners of the world. The cast is formed by Amanda Acosta, Daniela Cury, Luciana Ramanzini, Maria Bia, Samuel de Assis and Fabiano Augusto.
