Blair Ingenthron

Blair is the Weekend News Desk Editor / Special Projects Coordinator at BroadwayWorld. She has worked in various capacities in the theatre industry, with companies such as Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, SpotCo, and 54 Below. 

She is also a playwright. Her plays include Cosplay (Brick Theater), The Gatekeeper, and Dead Children’s Playground. Blair holds a B.A. with Honors in English Language and Literature (Writing Concentration) from Pace University and has studied at the Einhorn School of Performing Arts at Primary Stages and The New Group with playwrights Melissa Ross, Leah Nanako Winkler, Julian Sheppard, Rogelio Martinez, and Marsha Norman, among others. She is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Blair currently resides in Upper Manhattan.

Casting Announced For Theater Latte Da's VIOLET at the Guthrie; Previews Begin 2/26/2010

Theater Latté Da today announced casting for Violet, the rarely-produced musical which it will present in the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie, February 26 - March 21, 2010. Under the direction of Theater Latté Da artistic director Peter Rothstein, the production features a score by Tony Award nominee Jeanine Tesori, the composer whose music brought Tony Kushner's book and lyrics for Caroline, or Change to life. Britta Ollmann - a childhood star of the Children's Theatre Company who originated title roles in Pippi Longstocking, Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz - will play the title role. Ollman recently returned to the Twin Cities after completing her studies at New York University and appearing in the Broadway premiere of A Catered Affair.

Olney Theatre Center's National Players celebrated 60 years of touring at a benefit at the Inn at Brookville Farms on Monday, December 7. Helping to celebrate was Tony Award-winning actor Roger Bart, who is currently touring in Young Frankenstein after originating the role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein on Broadway. Roger is also known for his role as George Williams, the murderous pharmacist, on Desperate Housewives. Roger performed in A Little Night Music at Olney Theatre Center in 1986.

NY Philharmonic to Conduct Holiday Food Drive to Support 'NYC Goes Orange' Campaign

The New York Philharmonic will conduct a holiday food drive to benefit New Yorkers in need, December 12-19, 2009, as part of Food Bank For New York City's annual campaign 'NYC Goes Orange,' which refers to the color of hunger awareness. This is the sixth year that the Philharmonic is collecting food for this initiative. Concertgoers as well as members of the general public are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items in the lobby of Avery Fisher Hall. Monetary donations can also be made online at foodbanknyc.org any time during the season.

Set on the Lower East Side, with an array of vivid characters whose lives intertwine, the play follows Ruby (Sheila Dabney) as she investigates a black market deal done by many greedy hands and pursues two men, Jelly (Anthony Sisco) and Bolt (Eno Edet), each carrying a valise - one filled with a nuclear or toxic substance; the other filled with the seeds of the future.

Aurélia Thierrée grew up in the circus and has charmed audiences around the world with this display of stage illusion. The show was conceived and directed by Aurélia's mother, Victoria Thierrée Chaplin, who - along with her husband, Jean Baptiste Thierrée - created Cirque Bonjour, Cirque Imaginaire, and Cirque Invisible, innovative troupes that inspired Cirque du Soleil. Performed in the state-of-the-art Roda Theatre, Aurélia's Oratorio opens December 9 and closes January 24.

There is no performance Friday, January 29th.
