The Kennedy Center's Partners in Education team of Broward County Cultural Division, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and the School Board of Broward County, FL. present the eighth annual conference on arts integration- 21st Century Arts: Learning in New Ways, on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. The conference will be held at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Ave in Fort Lauderdale, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will include a series of welcome and keynote speakers, followed by separate breakout sessions for School Board of Broward County Arts Teachers, and one from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for Independent Teaching Artists.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County presents the Miami premiere of STUFFED AND UNSTRUNG, a madcap comedy show, for adults only, featuring a motley crew of Henson puppets (the Miskreant Puppets) sharing the stage with improv comedians. For the last seven years Jamie Morris' twisted version, MOMMIE QUEEREST, has had sold-out audiences across the country rethinking the oft-quoted tale with the simple premise, 'What if Joan had really been a man all those years?' Told by an all male cast of four, MOMMIE QUEEREST entertains the notion that Crawford was actually a man in drag, a fact she hid from her fans, her children, and the world. Even when Christina finds out, takes revenge, and writes 'Daddy Dearest' it's Joan who still has the last laugh.

Miami's Mad Cat Theatre Company has been committed to creating an alternate theatrical universe for eleven years now by specializing in their own brand of irreverent and always evolving, never arriving original plays. Equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman is internationally acclaimed for a stellar 14-year run at the Waldorf-Astoria where she played Cole Porter's Steinway. Last June, she headlined the annual Cole Porter Festival in his hometown of Peru, IN. Sherman has performed at The Algonquin's Oak Room where the Village Voice touted her as 'someone who fits the room like Derek Jeter fits the Yankees.' She's also worked at Feinstein's, Rose Hall with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Dizzy's Coca Cola and 59E59 Theaters where she was lauded for her band singer role in a centennial tribute to Artie Shaw.

A BARREN MAN is the story of a young Orthodox man living in Crown Heights who is tormented by his sexual identity, repressed urges, and inability to procreate with his spouse of two years. Desperately longing to save his marriage and preserve his faith, the young man seeks counsel outside Crown Heights. Set against the backdrop of the highs and lows of New York's same-sex marriage legislation, A Barren Man conveys the dangers of self entrapment, the lengths one must go for personal freedom, and the desire to become complete.
