THEATRE OF DEATH Presents A Special Halloween Show - 10/31October 26, 2009This Saturday, Halloween night, is the Theatre of Death's annual 'Trick & Treat' show. All audience members will receive a goodie bag full of sweets, treats, and tickets to other shows around town. Though not required, audience members are encouraged to come in costume, and at the end of the evening the best costumed audience member will receive a prize (hats and headdresses must be removed during showtime as to not block other audience members sight of the show).

Rodney James' A DREAM INTERRUPTED, A LIFE REBORN Concludes This Weekend, 10/24-25October 21, 2009Playwright Rodney James' latest effort, 'A Dream Interrupted, a Life Reborn' is perhaps his most personal yet. Inspired by his wife (and producing partner) Kay Ellison-James' bout with breast cancer in 2008, 'Dream' conveys the importance of early detection in cases of cancer, and what happens after the diagnosis. The show has been playing at the Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts this month and will take its final bow on Sunday, October 25. No future productions plans for the show have been announced.
Black Swan State Theatre Officially Launches 'Star Gazing 2010' SeasonOctober 21, 2009Black Swan State Theatre Company launched its 2010 season at Canton Lounge Bar on Tuesday evening. Black Swan's Artistic Director, Kate Cherry, introduced Black Swan' season, themed 'Star Gazing 2010'. The invited guests were also addressed by playwright Hannie Rayson, whose new play, The Swimming Club, is one of the centerpieces of Black Swan's 2010 season.
