Deep Dish Theater Company presents an informal discussion of Clyde Edgerton's The Bible Salesman Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Tyndall Galleries in University Mall. The conversation, presented in conjunction with the theater's production of Glengarry Glen Ross at 7:30p.m., will be led by Evelyn Daniel and is free and open to the public. No prior attendance or registration is required.

The Duchess Theatre presents Endgame by Samuel Beckett. In Beckett's one act play the aged and blind Hamm and his servant Clov co-exist in a mutually dependent and fractious relationship, with only Hamm's parents, Nell and Nagg, legless from a biking accident, for company. They are condemned to a daily routine sealed off from the void outside.

Victory Gardens Fresh Squeezed is hosting a special Halloween Eve performance of Hard Headed Heart, written and performed by Blair Thomas and Company, Friday, October 30th at 8 pm at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater.

'Zombie Prom' debuts at the Newnan Community Theatre Company, October 29, 30, and 31. The show is being directed by Jennifer Dorrell, with choreography by Rachael Shaw and music by Becky Clark.

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis presents Shipwrecked! An Entertainment - The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As told by himself). Written by Donald Margulies and sponsored by Barnes & Thornburg, this play for all ages runs through November 8, 2009.

After playing some of theater's most famous roles, actor Joe Spano takes on the role of theater's most famous scribe: William Shakespeare. Spano, best known for his roles on television's NCIS and Hill Street Blues, portrays Shakespeare (fondly called ‘Shag' after playwright Bill Cain's favorite contemporary spelling of the Bard's name: ‘Shagspeare' or ‘Shagespeare') in the Los Angeles premiere of Equivocation. Spano is joined by two-time Tony Award nominee Harry Groener as Richard, the second in command of Shag's winsome acting troupe, as well as Patrick J. Adams, Brian Henderson and Connor Trinneer, who comprise the rest of Shag's theater company - Sharpe, Armin and Nate, respectively. That said, as Equivocation's tale unwinds onstage, the actors ultimately play about two dozen roles ranging from conspirators and priests to Lady Macbeth and King Lear. The cast also features Troian Bellisario as Judith, Shakespeare's omnipresent daughter.

Knowles Memorial Chapel hosts Mendelssohn's Elijah, one of the Bach Festival Society's most-loved works, on Saturday,October 24 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, October 25 at 3:00pm . Vocal soloists include internationally acclaimed baritone, Richard Zeller, tenor Robert Bracey, mezzo-soprano Cherry Duke and Rollins College's new voice professor, soprano Julia Foster.

Acorn Productions announces that the company has selected 5 full-length plays to be given dramatic readings in the Acorn Studio Theater as part of the process of choosing a featured play for this year's Maine Playwrights Festival. The scripts were chosen from the 17 pieces submitted this fall by Maine-based playwrights and address issues ranging from race relations to aging and military recruiting practices.

The Skokie Theatre is hosting an evening with Heather Moran, one of Chicago's top multi-genre vocalists, on November 21 at 8pm. Moran will be singing tunes of 50's jazz singers including Julie London, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and June Christy. Pianist Damian Espinosa, bassist Marc Piane and drummer Frank Parker join Heather Moran for this event.
