This past autumn two of this generation's brightest acting talents played two of music's most famous figures in Roy Smiles' new play KURT & SID at Trafalgar Studios in London, and it is now rumored that KURT & SID is looking for a home on the West End come Spring 2010.

The brand new Theatre C theatre company launched its premiere season at the Barrow Street Theatre on November 2nd with ACTIVATE!, a benefit gala for the opening of the company. Silence! The Musical will open in London on January 19, 2010. With a book by [title of show]'s Hunter Bell, music and lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and directed and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, Silence! is the unauthorized parody of Silence of the Lambs.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that The West End production of La Cage Aux Folles will close January 2, 2010, at the end of their current booking season. As previously announced, Douglas Hodge, the show's original Albin, will return from November 30th through the end of the run. He will also be part of the Broadway transfer in 2010.

The Naked Stage presents Macon City, a Comic Book Play, by 2 time Heideman award winning Marco Ramirez. Set in a fictitious American Metropolis, Macon City chronicles the lives of several local denizens as they struggling to survive in a decaying city, long-since abandoned by the Defenders, a super-powered team of crime-fighters.

The Empty Space...Peter Brook Awards were held today, November 3, at the National Theatre Studio in London and winners included London's The Cock Tavern and Edinburgh's Forest Fringe.

In the late 1980s LA Times writer Kenneth Turan began to conduct interviews of over 160 people close to Joeseph Papp to produce a book about his life. This process lasted for over 18 months, and when Papp read the nearly finished manuscript he halted the process by refusing to let the book be published.

On November 12 at 8pm, The Gramercy Theatre will host Conversations with Penn and Teller: 35 Years of Magic and BS. This event will benefit the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.
