He has made one sole mortgage payment in over a year, and has declared bankruptcy to avoid selling the playhouse in August. Similar stories are appearing across the country as owners struggle to maintain their businesses in this economy, but Miller's case seems a bit more complicated than that: this is his third bankruptcy since 1992.

Rhode Island Theatre Owner Talks North Shore Music Theatre RevitilizationNovember 24, 2009As previously reported by the Salem News, William Hanney, owner of Theatre By the Sea in Matunuck, Rhode Island, is in talks to purchase the building previously known as the North Shore Music Theatre. The theatre has been out of business since June, when they announced that they were unable to raise the necessary funds and pay off their debts.
