A night of four new original short plays inspired by The Sprice Girls' 1996 smah hit Wannabe. Plus a chance to mingle and dance! Come along and get ready for an evening of serious 90s girl power, crop tops at the ready...

Matchstick Theatre Company (MTC) seeks to support new writing and champion original theatre. In January 2023 they launched Hits and Pieces - a new night of original shorts inspired by a different popular song each time.

Four writers present four new pieces of original short theatre all based on the same song. Give four bakers the same ingredients and each cake is different - the same with theatre! 

MTC are a democratic bunch, each song is chosen by their audiences. At the end of each night they ask for song suggestions for forthcoming nights then four songs chosen by the Company are put to a public vote on Twitter and Insta.
They've had Sisqo's 'Thong Song', Don McLean's 'American Pie', Meatloaf's 'I would Do Anything for Love'  and Cher's 'Believe' so far!
