FAT****4JUSTICE at Drayton Arms Theatre

He's no deadbeat dad. In fact, Ray Hardy - the once detective, now a frazzled father working round-the-clock as a lowly security guard in a Manhattan skyscraper - is the opposite. Playing by the rules, living life by the book has got him nowhere. Lady Luck keeps dealing him one duff hand after another. This time his ex-wife, vindictively snatching away time with his kids, has called her last shot. Ray refuses to keep his head down any more.  On New Year's Eve, as the ball drops in Times Square, he plans to tell the world that fathers have rights! However, running into career-obsessed Rani and her colleague Jack have made his plans go so south that he winds up taking them hostage. 

The night and day worlds of blue collar and white collar clash and collide in heated and hilarious ways. Ray, Rani and Jack finally cross the divide and connect with a true understanding of themselves and each other. But ties are quickly cut with a fallout that palpably shocks.

This darkly funny staged reading of FAT****4JUSTICE spotlights how facts taken out of context lead to false assumptions while those in power are invested in keeping us depleted and apart. It is the second of Somi De Souza's Freedom Trilogy plays, the first of which, Revolution In A Catsuit, was performed in 2023 to popular acclaim.
