2025 AWARDS SEASON

The 2017 Tony Awards will be broadcast on four continents thanks to The Fremantle Corporation and the official international broadcast partners for the 71st Annual Tony Awards. The telecast will air across the globe. 

The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street), hosted by repeat emcee Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty'). The Drama Desk Awards are the only major New York City theater honors for which productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway compete against each other in the same categories. The New York Times has revealed the first details on this year's Tony Awards broadcast performances including scoops that Josh Groban will lead the cast of NATASHA, PIERRE in a mash-up, DEAR EVAN HANSEN will perform 'Waving Through a Window' led by Ben Platt, and  the FALSETTOS cast will reunite.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced its award winners for the 2016-17 season in 27 categories earlier this month. Broadway's Danny Burstein, Katie Finneran and Christopher Fitzgerald served as gala award presenters at the 67th Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards ceremony yesterday, May 25th, at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant. FALSETTOS was not only special to audiences from across the world, but to the actors who got to take part in the production, as well. One of those actors is Christian Borle, who earned himself Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Marvin. The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) just presented the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).
