The nationally awarded youth theater group is delighted to have an EPIC return to Irvington Theater for an EPIC production of Les Misérables  this November! The world’s longest running musical, Les Misérables  is a true modern classic featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time! The show will feature the school's prestigious Performance Ensemble Program and is being directed by BTC’s Co-Artistic Directors of 20 years, Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos. Prepare to be swept away by the powerful and epic world of Les Miserables, where passion, sacrifice, and redemption collide in a sweeping tale of revolution and love. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, the story follows Jean Valjean, an ex-convict striving for redemption, as he evades the relentless Inspector, Javert, and navigates the struggles of poverty, injustice, and hope. With unforgettable music and heart-wrenching performances, Les Miserables resonates deeply with audiences, evoking both tears and triumph as characters fight for their dreams and dignity amid the chaos of a nation in turmoil.

With 39 years in London's West End (and still going), eight Tonys, and an Academy Award-winning film adaptation, Les Misérables has been seen by over 70 million people worldwide in 45 countries in 22 languages and shows no signs of slowing down. Fun Fact – the movie adaptation set a new standard for musicals on film when director Tom Hooper chose to have the actors sing live on set – rather than pre-recording their vocals – layering a raw, authentic quality to their musical performances that capture the magical essence only live theater can traditionally bring to storytelling. Get your tickets now for this courageous musical. With its timeless themes and a breathtaking score, Les Miserables has left an indelible mark on musical theater; adapted initially from Victor Hugo's classic novel, it has solidified itself as a timeless and legendary story in the hearts of audiences across the globe.

"The evolution of Les Mis, throughout its many iterations, brings BTC as an arts education institution the most incredible opportunity this season. Our performance program members (4-12th graders) are exploring this poignant classic through a revised school edition lens. This journey not only makes for fantastic conversation in the classroom and exciting and masterful moments on stage, but also fosters personal growth and development in our students." says Managing Director, Heather LoSchiavo.

"Les Misérables has become an unmistakable part of our theatre going consciousness." – Talkin' Broadway
